Would you choose 2 bdr BC villa or 2 standard rooms at BC or YC?

I'm having a super difficult time finding availability at the YC or BC in mid-May. We had 2 rooms booked at the YC for March, but we are having to change to May due to a schedule conflict. We had a pretty good AP rate for our March trip, so I'm bummed we had to give it up. I also don't actually have my AP bought yet, so I can't check dates for myself. Since we need 2 rooms, I figure it's worth it to buy one if we can get a good enough discount. I spoke with a lady a couple nights ago, and she quoted me 5424 for 5 nights in a 2 bdr villa at the BC. Is that good? Or do you think i can do better?

If you go with 2 rooms would you want them to be connecting rooms?
If so, you'll want to go with the Villa
If no, I'd go with the 2 rooms and chance it.
I personally, knowing I'm in the minority, don't care for the Villas all that much. I much prefer traditional resort rooms. I don't have any desire to have laundry machines or a kitchen and most of the resort rooms have been refurbed more recently than the DVC rooms.
I really like the rooms at YC a lot too.

Was the lady on the phone through disney?

You could try renting points, but since it's coming up soon there may not be availability.

Also, check with a disney-specific travel agent.

What about moving to the Dolphin or the Swan? You would still be in the Epcot resort area. If you have AAA you may be able to get a very good rate. You get the benefit of location and nicely recently renovated rooms and common space but lose Magical Express which some guests value more than others (I don’t). You will pay top dollar for a 2 bedroom rental at BCV this close. Probably an owner renting on spec.

Good luck and have a great vacation!

Yes, I just called the number on WDW's website. That's a good idea to check with a TA. I think I'll try that. Thank you!

I would love to try the Swan or Dolphin, but my family has always been set on BC or YC. They love the pools, location, etc.

You can rent from David’s rentals but very hard to get a reservation only 4 months out.

I am noticing the Boardwalk has a garden view room for 401 per night. That sounds like a great price, but we would lose the access to the pools at YC/BC. Hmmm......

We really like the quiet pool at the boardwalk and the general vibe at the resort, especially in the evening. Was that a studio or a regular room for $401? I think you can get an AP rate for either.

It's for a regular room for 401.

If you were quoted $5,424 then that would be a 20% discount, if your dates were the same. But you should be able to get two BC resort rooms for a lot less than that.

The pools at the Swan and Dolphin are at least as nice, IMHO, as the Yacht and Beach Club. You may be able to book a 2 bedroom suite for less? I find the Swan and Dolphin to be nicer overall than the Beach Club (never stayed at the Yacht Club).

I ran the random dates of May 13-19 for a 2 bedroom villa at Beach Club Villas and the rack rate (full price, no discounts, no tickets) was $8,183.28. If you were quoted $5,424 then that would be a 35% discount, if your dates were the same. But you should be able to get two BC resort rooms for a lot less than that.
Very close, our dates are just one day shy of that. 13-18. I'm going to keep trying for 2 resort rooms, I think. Thank you for your help!

I guess I had six nights for $8,183.28. I ran the reservation again with your dates for 5 nights and the full price (rack rate) was $6,780.40, which is a 20% discount.

Thank you! I really hope I can get 2 rooms instead of the villa! Do you think they will release any more as time goes on? Or is what they have now all that they'll have? It's probably hard to tell, I suppose.

Well, I called back today, and they still had the 2-bedroom BC villa available, so I went and ahead and booked that. But.....I'm still looking. If we chose to stay at the BW in 2 rooms, we could save close to a thousand dollars. I'm just not sure what to do. The thought of renting points is swirling around in my head, as well, but I've never done that before, so I need to research the pros and cons.

At least with the 2 bedroom villa, you get your own washer/dryer and living room to share for hanging out! Plus a full kitchen (not that you may need it for only 5 nights). It is nicer than two rooms, with the living room to share.

More room does sound pretty nice, I'll admit. :) And having a refrigerator for leftovers is a plus!
