Would you buy at the Yacht Club Villas if it was created?

We bought at SSR before it opened. We bought AKL and BLT too. I would have bought VGF if the one bedroom had a second bathroom. I have no interest in Poly, my family hates studios. Since DVC seems to be getting rid of one bedrooms, I have no desire to buy any more.

We bought our 500 SSR points for $89 and $95 and have stayed at all the resorts whenever we wanted to. I love VGF and haven't had a problem getting in during Feb. school vacation. So no, we won't be getting any more.

I absolutely would never buy anything direct from Disney again because of how crazy the prices are now.

Is there enough room at Storm A Long Bay for a DVC at the Yacht Club?

I am thinking the same, there is no more room and the support establishments are getting overcrowded. Would expect the need for more eating and entertainment to accompany the added population.

Back when I bought my original BWV contract, it was with the intention of doing two 5 day (weeknight) trips a year in a studio during school vacations as I have 3 kids (now grown) That was what I could budget for. As my jobs changed and my income increased, I was able to buy more points, but at less than half of today's prices

I would love to have more points and should have grabbed a resale or two back when they were cheap and affordable.

I didn't. That said, my points are now plenty for my needs as my family rarely comes and I can do a couple of weeks in a combo of studios and 1 bedrooms. Future needs revolve around grandchildren - but guess what? Their parents are perfectly capable of affording a Disney vacation if they need one every year, or occasionally (like this July 4th at HH) they can tag along with me in my one bedroom!

If I were buying today, DVC would be a real stretch for me to consider buying new at full price. Instead of my original buy in at the former minimum, I might be doing a 100 point contract. Too pricey - makes me want to go other places with my cash.

Thankfully I got hooked way back when. I'm for certain that I would not do repeat Disney trips in values or moderates and the full price of any of the resorts may not be out of my league, but I look at that price and think 'one time only' vacation, and start going elsewhere. The Disney experience has a price ceiling for me (and for my family it seems.)

So, no, I would not buy at any 'new' DVC, and I doubt I'll find any resales in the $56 to $70 a point range (other than Vero) these days.

I'm assuming that a DVC at YC would be a conversion of existing hotel rooms, no?

Not sure that's a good assumption. YC is a popular convention resort and AFAIK, it's not having trouble filling the rooms.

I understand that, I just meant that I didn't think they would be building a new DVC building. Is there room?
