Would you buy a Fastpass?

I'm confused. I'm sure that I won't do this and waste the money, but I found someone that is selling VIP Fastpasses (they're given when a ride breaks down or sometimes during tours, etc....) for the MK rides (too bad not for Epcot or AK), and I want to know if anyone would actually consider purchasing them if they had the opportunity?

What is the difference between a VIP fastpass and a regular one? Why pay for a fastpass when they are free at the parks?

Not worth it imho. Fast passes are complimetary... I can't see paying for them. I looked up the auction and it really doesn't seem worth it as everyone in your party needs a fast pass so by the time you purchase them all it is a rip off.

If they are legit, then they might be worth it. Althought they are free at the parks, you can only get a few throughout the day (given time constraints on the passes and the pure logistics of getting to the FastPass distribution lines).

My wife and I went to Disneyland Paris last year and got a package that included unlimited FastPasses as part of the ticket. Although they don't have as many rides, when it was busy, it was worth the few extra $, given the total expense of the trip.

Of course, you may not know if they are really legit until you try to use them (depending on your source)

It depends. If there is a ride you absolutely positively need to go on and it is late on your last day at WDW, you may find a fastpass hawker a godsend.

The VIP fastpass, if I remember correctly, is a "fastpass" that has no date or time on it.

I got one for Test Track when taking an (extra cost) tour of Epcot. It was purple in color. I chickened out of Test Track and when I finally got up the courage to ride (a couple of years later) they honored that fastpass.

It is against Disney's rules to sell fastpasses, although once in awhile someone succeeds in selling one.

We were on Test Track once when it broke down a couple of years ago. We had to be taken out the back way. We were each given a special front of the line pass--good forever. We saved them for a Christmas trip when fast passes are harder to come by. We didn't even have to go in the fast pass line. We went some back way and got right on, skipping the entire line. Maybe this is what someone is talking about.

I would probably buy them if they were for real that would be great!! Icould not find the on the popular auction site to see how much they were.
