My mother and father in- law called and invited my husband out for dinner for his birthday to Red Lobster. I was NOT invited. The more I think about it..the madder I get.

I asked everybody at work..and they said that was terribly rude and a few even said my husband should have refused to go without me...

What do you guys think????

Hold on. Was it actually said that you weren't invited that they didn't want you to be there?

I completely agree with them. He SHOULD know better:( :(

If you were deliberately excluded, yes it was terribly rude and your DH should have known better than to accept.

They called and asked him. She came and picked him up....Nobody said I wasn't invited..but it was just implied.

She came in the house and waited for him to change.

Trust me...NOT invited

When she got to the house, my oldest (16) was going out..she saw that I had supper for me and the younger kids...she said..

Well, Katie..you could have gone too......(trust me..she had ample time to ask before then....)

I think that was just wrong Katie! DH went? I would be very hurt and angry with all of them.

oh yea..I was available. This was planned last week. Had I been invited..i could have made arrangements or not let my 16 yr old go out that night.....I wasn't availabe when she asked..and she knew it...that is why said what she said..she didn't even really ask...she just tokenly said...you could have gone too....

I would be royally ticked off at my husband. And at them. It was bad enough not being invited, but for him to go without you, IN FRONT OF YOU!!!

My DH would not have gone
But I don't think his parents would exclude me either
He should have thought better of this
How would he feel if you didn't spend your birthday with him???
I'd ask him

well..it wasn't really his real birthday. It was just an early birthday dinner( his birthday is in a few days).

So, his birthday will be spent with me...I am sorry if this mislead anybody.

The dinner was for his birthday...early.

Well Katie "mad" would be an understatement for me. I think I would be very hurt by all of their actions.

Katie, it doesn't matter the reason. It was wrong.
I'm so sorry.

No class what so ever!!!

Yes, I think it was wrong and rude. I'd be getting the message loud and clear if I were you. :( I'd have a talk with my DH also. I don't think he should have gone w/o you.

This is terrible. Have you spoken with your husband about how you feel? Do you think he's fully aware?
I'm so sorry.
