Would you avoid DL tomorrow (9/11) because of D23? Please forgive my ignorance...

Hi Everyone,

Please forgive my ignorance, but I have never even heard of D23 until I was on the DL website looking at hours for tomorrow night (Fri, 9/11). We were thinking of heading to DL tomorrow after we pick the kids up from school, but I'm afraid that D23 will make it way more crowded than usual. Would you say that's a fair assumption? Would you avoid DL tomorrow if you weren't going to D23? I know it's at the Convention Center across the street, but I figure it will probably generate big crowds at DL as well.

Thoughts??? TIA!

Sasha

Since you live that close and can go virtually anytime, I would skip it and wait til the convention is over.

We're actually going down to the park tomorrow just to meet some friends for dinner. We won't be doing any rides (well, maybe Jungle Cruise or Pirates) so we're not too concerned about that, but we'll be heading in around 7:00ish. Not really overly concerned about the extra crowds.

I had this same issue. I wanted to take my sister (who has just started college in LMU) down on Saturday for a little treat. When I realized that this weekend was indeed D23, I was horrified.

And then I heard that the LOST cast was going to be there on Saturday and instantly bought one-day tickets.

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

I will be curious to see if the parks are crowded. The D23 schedule is so packed with great things to do that I can' t imagine them skipping out to go to the parks. It would only be for those that brought family perhaps? I would not bring my family if I was going to D23. It would be too distracting. Hmmm... I guess we will see.

Oooooh, make sure you take pics if you find any of the cast, and POST! :cheer2:

Yesterday (9/10), Magic Morning was INSANE, but then the crowds almost visibly dispersed, and then it started picking up a bit in the evening. I assume everyone went to D23 for the afternoon? It was an early-closing night, so I imagine it was busier as the park was open till midnight tonight.

They kept us so busy at the Expo (at least during the day) that I can't imagine anyone attending the Expo actually had much time (or energy!) to spend time in the parks...though I know of some people who went over there in the evenings...apparently DL was VERY busy on Saturday evening, to the point that they were getting guests out of the park via the backstage areas.
