This might not be fair comment as I've never stayed at either, but on our trip a couple of weeks ago I went a walk to Cheyenne and Santa Fe to check them out and had a good look around.
I got a great impression of the Cheyenne, the theming is excellent and visiting it briefly really made me want to stay there. The reception and bar areas were cosy and continued the great theme found outside.
However, I must say I was shocked at the Santa Fe. I thought it seemed bleak and horribly themed, with dirty buildings and car parks everywhere it reminded me of a run down housing estate. This might not be fair, and I know a lot of people are fond of the Santa Fe but I would definitely never stay there now that I've seen it. Based on these impressions I'd say definitely pay the £15!
I think considering the theming of the Santa Fe, this is what it may target, I mean.. isn't it meant to be a Mexican town?
I've never stayed at either here, but as the above post said.. for the extra £15 - definitely DEFINITELY go with the Cheyenne, it looks such a fun place to stay! I know if we can't afford the SL one year, we'll stay there![]()
I wouldnt stay at either anymore to be honest!
We used to stay at the Cheyenne all the time until 'the last time' we stayed when it was obvious schools used the hotel to stay for their trips
we then had an absolute nightmare of loud music, noise and general rudeness from the kids, resulting on me having to bang on the door of the room next to us and having people from other rooms come out to look at what was going on. Eventually a 'teacher' came out to see what was going on.
Would never stay there again which is a shame...unlucky? maybe, but not going to test that theory!!
Sequoia Lodge since and next week our first stay at the New York
