Hi
We booked in Santa Fe but just checked and Cheynee is £15 more. Should we upgrade. I have a 6 yr old daughter.
Thanks

Absolutely!!

To be fair we've not actually stayed at the SF as the first time we went it sold out before I booked (it was last minute!) and the Cheyenne wound up cheaper anyway but the Cheyenne is great. The theming is brilliant and I'm sure a 6 year old would love it.

For the sake of £15 I'd definitely go for it. I did the 2nd time too as it was only £32 more.

Definatley!!! We always stay in the cheyenne and love it.We stayed in the santa fe once but was not really impressed.Even though the two are both basic hotels the cheyenne has a much better feel to it,its warm and inviting, where as the sf is a bit cold and sparse.

This might not be fair comment as I've never stayed at either, but on our trip a couple of weeks ago I went a walk to Cheyenne and Santa Fe to check them out and had a good look around.
I got a great impression of the Cheyenne, the theming is excellent and visiting it briefly really made me want to stay there. The reception and bar areas were cosy and continued the great theme found outside.
However, I must say I was shocked at the Santa Fe. I thought it seemed bleak and horribly themed, with dirty buildings and car parks everywhere it reminded me of a run down housing estate. This might not be fair, and I know a lot of people are fond of the Santa Fe but I would definitely never stay there now that I've seen it. Based on these impressions I'd say definitely pay the £15!

I think considering the theming of the Santa Fe, this is what it may target, I mean.. isn't it meant to be a Mexican town?

I've never stayed at either here, but as the above post said.. for the extra £15 - definitely DEFINITELY go with the Cheyenne, it looks such a fun place to stay! I know if we can't afford the SL one year, we'll stay there :)

Yes, I see your point. I think that the Santa Fe does fit its theme as a Mexican town, its just that I don't personally like this theme or the way Disney has chosen to execute it. I think compared to all of the other hotels (I visited them all on my most recent trip) it lacks atmosphere and beauty. Just my opinion though!

I've stayed in both and i would do it! in fact, i would never stay in the santa fe ever again!

I stayed in SF and its not too bad. The beds are sooo comfy but we went to the cheyenne one nite for drinks and for theming it wins hands down. So much so we are staying there in 3 (hopefully) short months.

Flying in the face of public opinion ;) - I would only stay at the Cheyenne if it was cheaper than the Santa Fe.
I don't know if it I was just unlucky, but the one time I stayed at the Cheyenne, the bed just wasn't as comfy as the ones in the Santa Fe, and unfortunately (and I know this can happen in the Santa Fe too but I've never experienced it there) our room was right opposite a fire exit and stairway, which was used for a good couple of hours late in the evening by a school group as they chased each other through the block :confused3.

The Santa Fe is colourful and cheery inside the public areas, whereas the Cheyenne is dark wood and Wild West. The external theming? Hands down the Cheyenne wins.

I did it. It was an extra £31 in the end but I think it will be worth it. Thanks for comments.:cool1:

Well worth it in my opinion, the cheyenne is just so much ''warmer'' feeling than the santa fe.

I wouldnt stay at either anymore to be honest!

We used to stay at the Cheyenne all the time until 'the last time' we stayed when it was obvious schools used the hotel to stay for their trips

we then had an absolute nightmare of loud music, noise and general rudeness from the kids, resulting on me having to bang on the door of the room next to us and having people from other rooms come out to look at what was going on. Eventually a 'teacher' came out to see what was going on.

Would never stay there again which is a shame...unlucky? maybe, but not going to test that theory!!

Sequoia Lodge since and next week our first stay at the New York

Our school group is staying there in February, hopefully our students will be well behaved and courteous to other guests. :)
