No we don't. Some people think ______ (insert celebrity there) is "hot".

I think they look kind of gross/icky/arrogant/blah...

There are a lot of women who think Justin Timberlake is a "hottie". I find him repulsive. There are a lot of men who think Paris Hilton is a "hottie". I find her to be the most disgusting looking woman I've ever seen.

I'm sure I could list more men and women who are considered "hot" by other people's standards but not by mine. Likewise, I could probably list some people I think are beautiful that you'd all be like "are you blind??"

You can not define beauty.

I "know" what you mean, at least admit you "know" what I mean.

There's a fairly universal idea of what is "hot". Otherwise, how does Sports Illustrated know who to put in their swimsuit edition? How does a fashion magazine decide which pictures to use? How does Chippendale's know who to hire? There will be variations, of course, but a universal idea of attractiveness does exist.

Exactly my point. Doesn't make it universal, but it is rather "obvious" what I mean.

Paris Hilton would make me do a double-take if she were normal, but her background...who wants to marry that? on the flipside, I don't think Johnny Depp is a great-looking guy, but his movies and his addiction to his family ...I get where chicks dig him.

I am going with the guy next door. I have dated both hotties and the guy next door type and always seemed to connect more with the guy next door. The hotties just seemed so...arrogant, I couldn't stand it.

I like dark haired girls, I think they're much hotter than blondes, though there are still blondes I consider beautiful. I like natural girls better than girls that are all made up, yet for some girls, make up is what makes them feel more beautiful, and that feeling makes them more beautiful. I agree with Es, I don't see what she said that was arrogant.

It's just a look in someone's eyes. I see it in celebrities all the time. Paris Hilton looks arrogant. IMO, I think Brad Pitt looks arrogant.

They may be the nicest people in the world but they don't come off that way to me.

And no. I honestly don't know what you mean. I don't know of any celebrity who everyone agrees on.

I think a lot of the people in magazines look fake and weird.

My biggest TV star crush ever was probably Joel from Mystery Science theater. Not exactly someone whos posing on the cover of Playgirl... I find a couple of the guys from Ghost Hunters (sci fi) to be cute. I'd rather spend an evening with one of them than with Johnny Depp or Orlando Bloom.

I think I understand what Esmerelda is trying to say. I too, do not think Brad Pitt is gorgeous, definitely not my type. I don't like "pretty boys" as a rule.

It depends. I've gone out with guy next door types who were total jerks and I dated a hottie who was the nicest guy in the world. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
