Would this make you want to rent a car from Hotwire or not?

Someone I know was telling me how great the rental car rates are on Hotwire.com and when I went to look at them myself they were right, however the catch is you won't know which rental car company you will be renting from until your reservation is complete. Here is what they say about that on their website incase no one has seen it.

You're guaranteed a car from a major car-rental agency: Alamo, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Europcar (International only), Hertz, or National.

You save big because you agree to learn the name of the car rental company after you book. Once you make your booking, we immediately complete your reservation and show you the rental agency name and details.

So if you saw that they had a great rate would you still want to make a reservation with them even though you might not get the company you wish to rent from?

I rented from Hotwire last summer since all the rates were high late June/early July.

My company was Hertz.....

The question is what matters to you the most: cost or the company you rent from.....


I didn't care because I saved over 200 dollars.....

That's how Hotwire and Priceline work. In exchange for not knowing which car rental company you'll get (or hotel or airline) - you get a lower price. I have never used it for rental cars, but have booked many hotels via Priceline's "Name your own price" feature.

If all things are equal I will rent from a specific company. If the price is a lot cheaper I will rent from Priceline. Pricelines prices are better than Hotwires prices. I use HW's price and bid starting at 60%. IIRC you are under 25 years old so you should look into underage driver information.
