would the HOOP DE DOO REVUE be good for a rehearsal dinner?

I guess it depends on what you're looking for in a rehearsal dinner. If you want privacy I wouldn't reccomend the Revue, since it's held in one big area with tons of tables and is very interactive. If you want somewhere to go and have fun without much pomp and circumstance, it's a good choice.

Ok, now this response is a bias one but I would vote 100% for the hoop de doo revue.

I say this because I had this as my rehearsal dinner last year and could not have been happier with my choice. We had it the night before the wedding and since we were having a formal dinner the night of the wedding I wanted the rehearsal dinner to be fun and relaxing.

Everyone had a great time and no one was thinking about the wedding and all the things that needed to go smoothly the next day. It was great. We also did the last showing and it was great because after that we all went back to our respective hotels and basically crashed (except me the bride). LOL.

But yeah, it was definately a hit and it made me feel good when almost everyone else on their own accord came up to me to tell me what a great choice. I don't think you'd be dissappointed with having it at the Hoop Dee Doo. I do have some pictures from the hoop dee doo on my myspace slideshow. They are the first handful of pictures. Not sure if you will get to see the very 1st picture but one the characters from the show '6 bits' was having fun all night with our table and he was telling my aunt to be quiet in the first picture. He was also making fun of my uncle's bald head. He heard my aunt deb speak three words and told everyone in the room that she was the loudest person he had ever heard. He then turned to my bald uncle and told him "I don't care how good the picture is, if the sound is broke I am taking it back!" It was just hilarious. You'll have a great time.

Good luck and please feel free to pm or email me anytime.

I didn't want to make it sound like I didn't think the Revue was a good choice so I'm sorry if it came off that way! I actually really like the Revue and think it would be a blast for a rehearsal dinner, but I'm a really casual person having a really casual wedding. Some people have their hearts set on a more formal dinner where the the wedding party is the focus and speeches are given, and obviously the Revue isn't the best place for that. However, the Revue is a good place to go if you want everybody involved in your rehearsal dinner. :)

I don't think you came across that way at all! No worries, it is best to look at all sides and I agree many people have their hearts set on a formal dinner for the rehearsal dinner. Your insight is spot on. I just was sharing my personal story to give one example so hopefully others will share examples of the hoop dee doo or something different to give some options. Great posts starflower!
