Would Photo Pass Plus Be Worth It for Our Family?

We are going to WDW in 3 weeks and I think I want to try the Photo Pass Plus. However, I want to be sure it is worth the money.

We are not staying onsite but will be visiting all parks over a 4 day period.

We do not have any character meals planned, but will be doing the Candlelight Processional.

DH is NEVER in any pictures because he's always taking them! Was thinking this might be a fun way to document that he was actually on this trip - LOL!

How many photos can we expect to get just throughout the parks? Will we get prints, a DVD with all images, or both? Are they mailed to us after we get home?

Do you think it's worth it for us?

Thanks!

I don't think it would be worth it for you. You can get regular PP and/or have the PP photographer take a family photo with your own camera. If you were staying longer and had character meals and many meet and greets planned then it would be worth it. In your case, you would only get your digital images on a cd because you are not taking advantage of any of the other components that would give you a hard copy of the photos.

I think the regular photopass would work best for your family. DH and I have gone on two solo trips for 4 day trips and bought the regular photopass and had over 200 pictures taken each trip We didn't have any character dining, which would not have been included in the regular photopass anyway. You would be amazed at how many photographers you will find if you just keep your eyes open for them. We even had pictures taken upstairs of finding nemo at Epcot, in the aquarium I say it's definitely worth every penny.

last year I agonized over this before we went, and I ended up not prepaying. So we did the photopass in the park, and also had them take pictures with our cameras.

Some of the pictures were great, some were not, but we didn't end up with enough to justify in my mind paying for the photopass. but then again, I wanted some of the photos, which were very expensive to order that way.

i compromised and bought a photobook and put the pictures I wanted in it. It was less than the photopass. I had thought of doing a calendar, but it wasn't an option at that time.

we were there the week after Christmas, it was crazy crowded. If we had been there at a less crowded time it might have been more worth it.

Thank you! I am still torn over what to do. I feel like by pre-paying I know I'll get some pictures. If I wait to look at them and order when I get home, I'll likely come home, think about all we've already spent, and not order anything - LOL! So it's kind of a psychological thing too...I know that probably sounds nuts.

Anyhow, if I do the PP+ won't I have the digital copies of all the images? I'm thinking maybe I can do a book myself on Shutterfly or something when they have a promo...

Okay, so I am looking at the link below to see the features and pricing for the Photopass...

http://www.disneyphotopass.com/specialoffers/

There is a price for PP+ and then a price for the Photopass CD.

So, if I order the PP CD I basically get all pictures sent to me on a CD after our trip? Will I not get the CD if I order PP+?

If I order PP+ and don't get a CD, will I get to download all my pics and then print them out as I please?

I don't have to purchase BOTH in order to get digital copies of my pics do I?

Sorry, I'm not sure why this is so hard for me to fully comprehend....:flower3:

So what is the "regular" photopass? Is that the Photopass CD mentioned in this link?

Do you still have the Magic photos with this option? I guess I'm still not clear what I am getting with the PP+ that I'm not getting with the PP CD? If it's photos from rides, there are some rides we go on that do pics...are all ride pics included, and do we just get to take those prints with us after the ride for free?

Magic photos are included as part of the Photopass service, without even buying anything. They are taken by the photographers in the parks and go on your card just like the pictures they take without added magic.

For your family, I'd recommend pre-ordering the Photo CD, the one you saw in that link. It will include digital copies all of the photos you add to your card - in the parks and with the characters. Plus is that, plus all of your ride photos and dining photos, with a bonus CD of professional pictures with no people in them. For ride photos it's a digital copy, no hard copy with Plus. You can still purchase ride photos if you don't do Plus.

Once you get home, you'll go to the website, type in your card number, make edits including adding borders and such, and then order your CD which you've already paid for, which you can either download or have shipped to your house. You can then use that to make as many copies of as many of your pictures in as many sizes as you want!

We've bought the Photopass ever since we figured out what it was (maybe since 2007?) ;) We have NEVER been disappointed. We had the same problem as your family...I was never in any of the pictures, because I'm always behind the lens. Photopass allows us to have great family shots of the "landmarks" in each of the parks. We've always told the photographers, "We've already pre-purchased the cd, so feel free to take as many as you want." We've ended up with some pretty amazing pictures because they'll go ALL OUT & take the unique shots you don't normally see.

This year, we pre-ordered the Photopass+, and I can't wait to take advantage of it! :thumbsup2

You might look at allears dot net for details on Photpassplus. (not enough posts to post a link yet)
It has a pretty good explanation and lists the rides that are included as well as other interests

Thanks so much everyone! I think I'm going to get the PP+. I like the idea of having pictures of the parks without people in them and I feel like we'll have a couple ride pictures. I wonder if they will take pics at the Candlelight Processional? Can't wait to try this!
