You have to pay more for extra people in the room. Since they all ready paid the extra person charge, I really can't see it as ripping off Disney. We just did the free DDP (9/8 to 9/13) and had a hard time using up our credits. They surely will not use all of the oft absent daughter's credits.
Cancelling out the daughter would also cause a re-do of the reservation and a possible loss of the free DDP.
Just relax and let them enjoy their trip!

But I do feel this is one of those situations where if the plan information doesnt cover it (found here http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1189367) it may be best to contact Disney directly to get a definite answer. It certainly is one of those grey areas.
