Would it be odd to only order dessert at Garden Grove ?

Ok here I'am with all character meal restaurants booked up except for Garden Grove. My girl really wants to have a meal with the characters. Garden Grove is not on the free dining plan so it would cost us around $90.00 to eat. Would it be odd to just order dessert ? I know its a buffet when we want to go but, do they have a menu that you can order from also ?

Nevermind, I was thinking Garden Grill, not Garden Grove with my previous response.

Anyway, I believe Garden Grove does not offer an ala-carte menu during the character buffets. They have it during non-character mealtimes only.

It is a buffet character meal so you cannot order just dessert.

Just to be clear...we're talking about Garden GROVE at the Swan, which is not on the plan, not Garden GRILL at Epcot which is on the plan, correct?

Basing this purely on the menus on Allears.net, I'd say any time you could go for just dessert would be times that the characters are not there.

Yes Garden Grove at the Swan. I wish it was included in the dining plan. Right now I have reservation at Biergarten in Epcot but no characters there. Which has better food Biergarten or Garden Grove ?

Yep...it's a buffet. You can't just order dessert. You'd pay for the full buffet.

I am not sure why you are choosing to go there if you are on the dining plan. Were no other character meals available?

No not one character meal available no where while we will be staying there. Except Garden Grove and one at Hollywood and Vine. It is Dec 12th to the 15th. There was one at Hollywood and Vine but my girl is not thrilled with the characters there.And it is on a day that we do not plan on being at HS.

I'd subscribe to the December Canceled ADR thread and keep checking for availability.

I would also keep checking the online reservation system. I have seen Chef Mickeys and 1900 Park Fare open availability 1 week before we left. It pays to keep checking! Good luck!

No, do it for sure. We usually have one night where we do desert for dinner. Kids love it!!!
