Would it be better to skip Jollywood nights and do MVMCP twice?

Hi all,

back in 2023 I went to Disney during the festive period for the first time and booked MVMCP but unfortunately it was rained out and most of it was cancelled. I also booked one night of Jollywood nights which was the opening day and IIRC left pretty early as I wasn’t impressed and didn’t feel very festive. Though I was a big fan of the Kermit show. I was thinking of possibly booking two nights for MVMCP and skipping Jollywood all together this time. Has anyone been to JN last year? Do you know if it had improved since the opening? It will just be me in my party so I’m not too bothered about the prices as I’ll just be paying for myself.

Would love to hear your thoughts on each!

We also went to opening night of Jollywood in 2023 (which was the first year it was held) and decided to give it another try last year, also on opening night. IMO last year was much improved and we enjoyed ourselves so much more than in 2023. A lot of the issues that people complained about with the early dates of 2023 were eliminated and everything ran smoothly. Beverages and treats were much easier to get. The bottleneck crowds were largely eliminated. The entertainment was more accessible and very well done.
I think both parties are worth doing this year. That's our plan anyway :santa:

Thank you, that’s good to know about the crowds, I remember seeing how big the line was by Gerties ice cream after coming out of the show and it was very off putting. Glad to know that’s now been fixed.

We liked Jollywood Nights about 1000 times more than the Christmas party. We attended both for the first time this past December. All of DHS is decorated (outside of Galaxy's Edge), where as MK feels like mostly just on Main Street. We were so impressed with DHS holiday decorations, we think it was the best out of the 4 parks. Shows, music in almost every corner and the food was (in our opinion) much better than the Christmas party.

Just felt more like a big, fun holiday party.

We went to Jollywood nights in 2023 and didn't really good time. We tried it again last year and loved it! The hours were longer, it was much better staffed, and had more to do. I still think MVMCP is a bit better.
But in my opinion, if Jollywood had a parade or even a couple cavalcades with Santa included, then it would be the superior event.

That would be a strong "no" from me. Jollywood Nights is great now that they've tweaked it. Well worth it IMO. If I had to pick one only it might be MVMVP, but if you are doing 2 nights I would 100% do one of each.

I did a quick 3 night trip in Dec 2024 for holiday goings on. Did a day at Epcot, MVMCP, and Jollywood. It was a fantastic trip (cold in the evenings, I had a fleece and light jacket over it). Really enjoyed both MVMCP and especially Jollywood - atmosphere, characters, entertainment, and some rides.

We went the second night of Jollywood last year and also the MK Christmas party. To our surprise, we loved Jollywood. It was my DH and me and adult daughter and her hubby. We loved seeing characters in the distance but don’t stand in line, and don’t care about the MK cookies ( we have a nice grocery store right at home!)

So with those caveats, we LOVED Jollywood. So festive. We got a ressie at HBD, fabulous pianist, and still had plenty of time for lots of rides and entertainment.

Only thing they need to fix was we went to fantasmic, and wristband distribution hadn’t started. We then had to exit the park and go back through security and entrance to get back in. It was annoying but not a deal breaker.

At MK, we loved the Christmas parade and fireworks. The rest was fun, but Jollywood was our favorite.
