Would I be crazy to go to WDW by myself, with my 19 month old????

So, here's whats up....just looking to see if you all think I am crazy or ot

Grandpa, who is 96, is heading back home to Englewood, Fl for one last trip. He's been living in Cleveland with family since my Grandma died in 2007. My folks will be staying with him for a couple of months in Florida. I am planning on flying out to see him again, perhaps the last time, and have him see Merrick again, too! DH wants to save some time and money for when Baby Fox #2 comes, so he is opting out.

I was thinking about flying into Orlando two days earlier than I had planned to see Grandpa, with DS (19 months), taking ME to whichever DVC resort I can get a studio in (using the remaining 30 some-odd points we have for this year, which we were going to bank anduse for the podcast cruise, now on hold due to baby) and hitting the parks for 2 days. My AP is still good, so it will be pretty much a free couple of days, with the exception of food.

Here's the question....am I crazy and just desperate because we are not supposed to take another vacation until 2010???? How realistic will it be for me to travel alone to WDW, 20+weeks pregnant, with a toddler, for two days???? I think I am seeking out any Disney fix that I can get, and my planned trip to see Grandpa is my way to maybe squeeze it in.

Seriously, have I lost my mind?

Why not? Since you're an AP holder I'm assuming you have been several times and just want to hit some (not all) of the attractions with your son. You can take it easy and if the parks become too much for you, head back to the resort and go to the pool or one of the playgrounds. Good luck with your decision and have a nice visit with your Grandpa.

I agree with the PP.

AND, congratulations on your upcoming membership in the FourFoxes club!!!

Have a great time with that Little Kit of yours - you'll have a great time, just the two of you.

Have you lost your mind? Maybe, but that has never stopped me.;)

YES, PLEASE GO! I would absolutely go in your position. It will be such a precious and beautiful memory to have, you and your son together in WDW just before your new baby comes. As long as you are safe and careful, there is no need to worry. You will have an incredible trip!

Definitely go. We have a 9 month old girl and I would definitely go if I were in your position. A perfect time to spend quality time with your son before life becomes hectic again!

I think you would be crazy not to! The hardest part about getting to the parks is the travel. Once you are there, you can just chill and enjoy yourself and take in the scene! We took our daughter for the first time at that age. She had a great time, plus seemed easier to deal with since there was plenty of room to burn some energy.

Go go go GO!

I think you're asking the wrong group- of course we think you should go. Of course everyone at home will think you're nuts, but don't listen to them.

I have brought my two since they were 6 months old. There is always something fun to do! Especially the fountain in Epcot in-between the World Showcase. When my daughter was 18 months she would have opted to just stay there!

I say go for it!

I don't get why people would think it is crazy. You are already traveling to see a relative, you are using points and passes you already have... So the only thing it costs you is food. But you need to eat anyway! LOL

Honestly, for park veterans, it's a different experience than for the once in a decade or life time visitor. We don't have to do everything (but we like too!) to enjoy the experience. It's like visiting the mall or taking the kids to a local amusment park. Just on a far more grander scale!

I wouldn't recomend doing it for a first time visit, but if you are already there, it is silly not to.

Oh Do it! What a special memory you will be creating for not only you but for your DS! Take it slow and easy and that could make the magic all that more special! Good luck, let us know your decision!!)

I'd say go and enjoy the alone time with your child because once Baby #2 arrives things get crazier (but in a good way). If you are having a relatively easy and healthy pregnancy this would be a great time to go. Go, enjoy it, and make some wonderful memories with your son!!!

I'd do it! Just spend some low key Disney time, seeing the characters and seeing the details!

Have a great time!

Do it! You won't regret it. Just take it slow and enjoy every minute.

I took a trip with just me and my ds who was 4 at the time. It was awesome and he still talks about it...that was 5 yrs. ago.

DO IT!!

One of my fave Disney moments is Disney with me son when he was 3 spent just me and him!

Do it!! You will never get to do it solo again!!

Well, we are booked and going! And, I am flying Southwest for the first time EVER...a bit nervous about that, as I am not a good flyer. And, DH has decided to come, which I am actually glad about. Even though I was so exicted to spend some mama time with Merrick, I would feel bad about Tim not going...so dilemma is solved, thanks so much to all for the advice!

(PS, I knew I was asking the "wrong" crowd who would support my want to go! I just needed to hear it from WDW lovers instead of my friends who were worried I wouldn't have fun!)
