Worth (or even a real possibility?) going to Disney springs on arrival day?

I'm voting get settled in room, get dinner and stay parked at the resort. After dinner if you're still perky get a bottle of wine for the room, you'll mellow out. I happen to like Disney Springs (well, the Disney part at least) but it's not the end of the world to miss it completely.*

*I'm a guy who only likes shopping for Disney stuff at WDW. All those other boutique/specialty shops hold no interest for me.++

++ But I could make an exception for the ice cream place.

I always head to DS when I get in that first day and that is the plan on my next trip. That said... with your situation with how late you will be getting in and the lack of sleep from the night/day before, I would skip it and just eat at the resort. I know that I would be exhausted and I would want to have a fresh start the next day.
