I have our rooms booked at the AP rate for POR. It's just me and my BF, for our first big vacation together, BF's first trip to WDW and first real vacation, and my first trip to WDW in years.

Is it worth trying to switch to POFQ, or will we like POR just as well? We don't have the AP numbers yet so I can't check availability on the web site. I don't even know if a room is available at POFQ for the AP rate from 11/10 - 11/19.

So... is it worth trying to find out, then asking our very patient TA (who has handled a resort change and three date extension/changes!) to rebook us?

I would just stay with POR. It is a beautiful resort and you will love it there. You can always walk over to POFQ and visit the resort.

I would stay at POR, I personally like it better and I'm sure your BF will enjoy the pool area better at POR. The dragon slide is more for younger kids, while Ol' Man's Island is better for older kids and adults. And like already stated you can always walk over to POFQ if you like.

I would definitely stay with POR. We stayed there for our honeymoon and you could not ask for a more relaxing, romantic resort. I strongly recommend a night time walk around the resort. We did this every night and it was peaceful, romantic and one of the most special things that we did there.

Thanks for the reassurance. Hopefully next trip I will be less worried about everything! :D

Laralyn, I also suggest bringing bug spray. I am very suseptible to bug bites and walking around the bayou or near the lake or old mans island at night, I def got a lot of them!
