Worst place you've seen a cell phone used? (Inspired by Snoopy's yuppie toy thread)

At "circle time" in DD's gym class! We recently switched from one My Gym center to another because the mothers in the first location were so rude. Never watching their kids, just standing in a group yacking away (this is a parent participation class, not a drop off your kids class). The last straw was when we were in circle time and the instructor was trying to get the kids to listen and follow along, difficult enough with 20 some 2 yos, then a mom's phone rings and she answers it and has a conversation! No wonder her kid was running around bouncing off the walls, she doesn't pay attention, so why should he!

It was in the American Experience Show at WS/Epcot.

My goose bumps were just starting to rise as the final song started to play.

Then all of a sudden I hear a ring. The lady in the seat in front of me got a call from “Joey”. How do I know it was from Joey? She shouted out a big “Well Hello Joey” that’s how. Talk about a goose bump killer! Dam Communist!

I recently went to a FRID conference in Tampa. Of course due to the nature of the business we all had our cell phones with us. We were reminded to turn them to vibrate and keep them that way for the entire conference. Every once in a while you would see someone get up and go outside to return a call.

The worst abuse I ever saw was a man who called his wife in the middle of our Youth Symphony Concert.

In church for sure. But the most irritating place was at a PTA conference and the governor was speaking! How rude!! This was not the only time either, happened all through the conference.

A few weeks ago I was at the funeral parlor paying respect to my 94 year old neighbor. While a gentleman was standing in front of the casket and viewing the body, his cellphone rang to the tune of "Mexican Hat Dance". He didn't take the call and turned around to apologize, but it was VERY bad timing.

IN MY EXAM ROOM!! ARRRRGH!!!

What is WITH people? At least, for most people, it's someone from home calling to see what's wrong with the pet, and the person says, "I'm talking to the vet now. I'll call you back." All the rest... I just walk out of the room and make them wait until after I see the next patient.

I don't see why people are upset when people use the phone in the restroom or in stores. I probably wouldn't want to be talking on the phone with someone WHILE they're doing their business, but if I'm in the stall next to them and have to hear their business anyway, the sound of their voice doesn't really offend me.

I tell you, if those people in church, funerals, the American Adventure were sitting in front of me, I would have to try REALLY hard to not smack them over the head! (surely I would get away with it, right?)

THE MOVIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!      I have had this happen many times. I paid good money to see this movie not hear some ***** talk on the phone. I turn mine off can't they.

I was conducting a job interview. It happens that I work for a cell-phone company so having cell-phones around is not unusual.

The guy I was interviewing had his cell-phone in his hands. I assumed it was a comfort-thing as I am sure he was pretty nervous. I even sort-of made a joke by asking if he was expecting a call (haha). Which was a cue to put it in his jacket pocket or breif-case. but no, he kept it out, and yes it rang.....he stared a few minutes I guess trying to decide the appropriateness of answering at that moment. He made the wrong choice and answered. He did not get the job.

In the hospital where they have signs posted all over NO CELL PHONE USE!

I heard a lady talking in the restroom the other weekend at a car dealership. I don't mind people talking in there, but it does strike me as kind of funny. The funniest part of this call was what she was saying. (She was yelling, so I couldn't help but hear.) She was telling the person that they had just sold the car, so now they had bingo money. :teeth:

I don't know if it's the worst or not, but it was very annoying...in the waiting room of the fertility doctor's office. It very clearly says on the building's entrance that cell phones are not allowed due to medical equipment. And here in this VERY CROWDED waiting room is this woman yapping about the fact that she's still waiting to see the doctor!

I was at a wedding recently, and some bozo answered his cell phone during the Best Man's toast.

I think he finally took the hint when I caught his eye and glared at him. He sounded annoyed that the person called him! Hey boob, you're the one who answered the phone!

In Church - where the phone rang to "Take Me Out To The Ballgame!"

I personally either turn the phone off or leave it in the car when I am at Church, meetings, sporting events, etc.

I do have it on while I'm in the grocery store -and I often get a frantic call from some family member reminding me to buy milk or eggs, etc. And I've used the phone at Wal-Mart, etc. to make sure I am getting the right shirt size, grade of oil, etc.
