is that how you spell that? The spoof on music when they take otherwise decent songs and turn them into elevator music?

Anyway, I found one thas worse than that! I am on hold with a web hosting company and theyre playing OPERA!!!

not just any Opera but REALLY bad Opera!!!

I don't think this is "bad" but a little strange...I was in Golden Crown (chinese food) a month ago and I thought I recognized the music they were playing so I really listened to it. It was popular 80's Musak but it was chinese. I almost started laughing out loud!!! Nothing like eating egg flower soup to the chinese musak version of Berlin's Take My Breath Away :rotfl: :earboy2:

DH and I were in some store recently and heard an Ozzy song in Muzak. We were cracking up.

Sorry you are being tortured with bad Opera! Sounds like it's time to break out the ear plugs!

Jodi :D

In a restaraunt I was at all it played was Muzak...it was crazy!

oh yes with a K sorry :) I knew that didnt look right.

I was on hold for 45 minutes

only to be told it wasnt their problem. grrrrrrrrrr I hate dealing with some companies.

What bothers me more than Musak are the renditions of our National Anthem that so many are singing now. Recently heard one version that sounded like a Christmas song.

Having a son who spent almost a year in Afghanistan doing his job and knowing how others are feeling with their loved one(s) in harms way throughout the world, I just don't get these interpretations.

Hearing that song I want to feel PROUD not embarressed.

Sorry to vent but it's just the way I feel.

John

I once heard a Musac version of Satisfaction (the old Stones tune). If was heavy on the strings and featured a harp lead at one point. It was perhaps the most bizarre composition I have ever heard perfromed.

Do people really listen to Muzak for fun? Or is it only forced on them in certain elevators, restaurants and doctor's offices?

I know there's a channel on Music Choice that plays only Muzak, but I can't imagine anyone actually listening to it!:p

I know lots of people who listen to it (though they call it easy listening). Its audience seems to be people who are 60 and over in my experience.

Hmmm... I wonder if they recognize an Ozzy song when they hear the Muzak version. ;)

My mom and dad are both 62, I'll have to check whether they ever listen to it. I think they're still heavy into Doo Wop and Blues, but I don't live with them anymore, perhaps they've joined the Muzak Society for the Aged.:teeth:
