I just called to get a night added to existing reservations and there is nothing available with codes. I was only able to get the extra night for ASMu. CM told me to keep trying as something might open. I'm wondering if I start calling the few days before my trip and there is a lot more availability than they are letting on maybe I won't have to switch. I had no problem making PSs for Ohana's and concourse steakhouse. I want to do Chef Mickeys for breakfast but DD is not a breakfast person.

I am almost tempted to change my dates but Soarin is previewing for passholders. Can't miss that.

We went last month (peak season)and I called the day before we went and got WL 3 days courtyard view with FL resident rate with no problem. :sad2:

It's spring break for some of the schools in the northeast which is why there are crowds. Some of the schools are off the week prior to this weekend and some after. We were orginally going to go this same weekend and switched up April 29th. And remember, just because you can't get a room with the Fl resident discount doesn't mean that there aren't any available, there may be plenty but none left that are discounted.

Last year I was at WDW the third week of April (aka April Vacation in Maine.) It wasn't very busy except for the AK on Earth Day (NEVER AGAIN) and we never waited more than 20 minutes in line (occasionally using Fastpass). I'll be there April 18-25th and am not too worried. I'm not expecting it to be quiet but I don't think it will be jammed packed. :cool1: :cool1:

Oh, no! I just checked the date for this year, and (can you believe?!) Earth Day is scheduled for the day I chose for AK! I've already made PS's based on where I'd be each day and can't change as I may be joined by other family members for dinner.

How bad was it? Did it overtake the entire park, or can I still have a good time by avoiding high-traffic areas? I really just want to wander the paths and check out Conservation Station/Rafiki's planet watch - but I can see potential gridlock at the latter, so I'm prepared to skip it if necessary.

Darn... I was so looking forward to this. :(

Earth Day is 4/22. Last year Earth Day also fell on the 5th Anniversary of the AK. The lines weren't THAT bad. I think it was a 60 minute wait for KS. The only place I felt was out of control busy was around the safari and Tusker House. If you have PS's planned, don't change your plans, just plan accordingly (get there early and use Fastpasses.
