Worried about not getting tickets for Halloween festivites!!

I booked our package yesterday, and was not able to get my AP, because it was suggested that I upgrade on my stay, but now I cannot order the advance tickets, and THAT is the entire reason for this trip!!UGH!! I am stressed out now and will be until I can order them like everyone else! Do you think they will sell out to all the AP holders ?

It absolutely will not sell out. As if local AP holders even know their plans for October yet.

I'm an AP holder, and I'll buy mine in September when I know when I can go.

The date I wanted for the TOTP sold out last year (October 3), but it was largely my fault that I missed out on ordering tickets because I waited a long time to decide if I wanted to go to the TOTP or not. Fortunately, by the time I made up my mind and realized they were sold out, another person came through with some tickets for me, so I was able to go on October 3rd after all. So what I would say is that they won't sell out right away, but don't count on them being available last minute. It will take a good long while before they sell out, but I think expecting them to be available a couple weeks before the date you want to go may be expecting too much based on last year. Because once one date sold out last year, many of the other dates followed suit rapidly. Sometimes, though, you can still get tickets at the ticket booths on the day of the TOTP, but for a higher price.

Would you be able to give me any idea of when the tickets go on sale for the non AP holders? Is it a month before, 2 months?

I cannot recall when the TOTP tickets went on sale last year. I want to say August, but it may have been slightly before that since the first date of the TOTP was 10/3 last year. Hopefully someone else will know for sure. I just know my date (10/3) was the first date to sell out, which surprised me because I assumed that Halloween would be the first date to sell out - or even something closer to the end of October!

Sherry E, You're absolutely right. A person on another thread posted that she bought tickets at the beginning of August last year (I think on the 1st), the day that they were released to the general public. I recently saw a thread where someone mentioned that they called DLR and they did confirm that it would be August again of this year.

And thank you, Disneyfan4ever54, for confirming the August date! I had August stuck in my head, and I remembered people buying tickets in August last year, but I just could not remember if they went on sale at the end of July or August - so it's good to know that for sure!

The only date you have to seriously watch out for is Halloween, and those right near Halloween. But other wise you should be fine.

Last year I asked my darling sweet wonderful husband (I say this as a reminder to self since last year I almost killed him ), to get us tickets for my Birthday. He bought tickets at approx the beginning of September. I started to read the boards and noticed something a little off but thought DH had the wrong day. Then as it got closer I realised he was telling me we were going on a day that the TOTP was not available. I made him triple check and found out he bought us WDW tickets

Thank goodness Disney did a refund for us. We went to the proper Disneyland site (how he missed that I don't know!) and were able to get tickets less then a week before we ended up going to the TOTP. So yes you can get tickets close to the event thank goodness or my DH would still be in the dog house

I already bought mine for Friday, Oct 23rd. But you are probably in the majority and will buy somewhat last minute. I seem to recall that Fridays sell out about a month ahead of time. I would think buying anytime in August would be a safe bet.

I tend to agree, Lulubelle. August is good. I think once you get into September, it is taking a risk that something might be sold out (especially for early October). After my experience last year, I wouldn't count on being able to get tickets for the night you want just a couple of weeks beforehand. They may not sell out, but they also may. It's a gamble. I have a feeling that if more good hotel rates come out (either through the AP site or through PIN codes or whatever), as they did for last year for October, that will increase the chances of TOTP tickets selling like wildfire.

I too have already bought mine for Oct. 23rd! I waited too long last year and did not get the date I wanted. I waited until mid September. This year I bought them as soon as I could. I will be planning everything around that date. LOL!!

I just had a look, and my e tickets from last year are still in my inbox. I bought my tickets for Oct 3rd on Sept 10. It was a spur of the moment trip for dd and I. This year I plan to buy our tickets as soon as they go on sale to the general public.
