That doesnt make sense. I've never seen a plane deiced after landing before getting to the gate.I will say, not to scare you, but returning home from a cruise once in January, we landed fine but sat on tarmac for two hours while they de-iced another plane. That was torture!
So maybe delays, but doubt cancellation.

Still doesn't really make sense as you don't de-ice at the gate (or anywhere near the gates). Also doesn't take anywhere near two hours to de-ice.I said "we landed fine but sat on tarmac for two hours while they de-iced another plane."
We had to wait for a gate.
But why would YOUR plane need deiced? Unless wherever they do the deicing blocked that path to your gate. And for it to be a two hour delay, must have been multiple planes.I said "we landed fine but sat on tarmac for two hours while they de-iced another plane."

I totally believe that you were told that, but it doesn't make sense that that was the actual reason.
