Worried about CBR overflow at AKL

I know what you're talking about...the more you know, the more you have to worry about. I felt the same before last years trip. But, in all honesty, the knowledge I had on last years trip (the only one since I found the DIS) made my visit to the world at least 75% better than when I used to go "blissfully unaware". I learned things that made me appreciate what I was seeing/doing more...learned how to tour...and learned about the wonderful code rates & other savings tricks there are. The DIS is awsome...just ignore the ankle biters and you'll be fine.

Have a good time at AKL! It will be our first time there too!

When we stayed at AKL the CM who checked us in told us the place was very full, (Can't remember if he said 96 or 98%, one of them). We sure couldn't tell. There were no 'crowds' anywhere. There weren't many people riding the buses when we were. AKL looks like it has one of the largest pools, definitely the most lounge chairs. At the times we used the hot tubs they weren't crowded. We ate at Boma at a popular time with just a 5 minute wait with no PS. Mara was never crowded when we looked in there.

I say you don't have to worry much about crowds at AKL, have a great time!!!!

I was also wondering if the resorts I am staying at will be crowded due to closed ones. We will be at Disney 11/5 - 11/12 and will be staying at POFQ first 3 nights and AKL last 4 nights (over the weekend). The thing I am worried about most is the bus situation - since there are only buses from the resorts I am staying at. Hopefully they will have lots of buses running and there will not be lots of time waiting for a bus!

I know what you mean about these boards making you worry (I haven't made any PS's and am debating about the early entry thing)!! I have used a lot of tips from the boards that made our previous trips great! Our friends went to disney and winged it - told us about their trip - which was fun - but later my husband said they should have talked to me before they went!!! I took that as a nice complement! I also have friends who have been a million times and they still didn't know about things I learned on these boards!!!

Go and have fun! Try not to worry too much that it takes away from being at Disney (this coming from a total worry wart!!!).

I had posted recently about the increased crowds and noise on my recent trip to the AKL, but I just wanted to let you know that we had no problem whatsoever with the busses. They were always prompt, and they were never full when leaving the resort. The only time there were people standing coming back to the resort was after Illuminations.

Let's take a look at what was stated in the heading and first part of the original post:

Now, why would I think that the poster in questions is being snobbish and etc. Well, for one if they are worried about the capacity rates of the hotel, they would ask such and not POINT fingers at the CBR and the guests who had the opportunity to use an upgrade.

Then, the posts goes on to once again insult the guests who originally chose to stay at the CBR by saying that they are worried that the AKL willb e packed by CBR relocatees.

I personally would have taken offense to this as well. Just because a person chooses a moderate and OH NO should I say a VALUE resort doesn't mean that they are any less than those who only stay at deluxe hotels.

I can see how this posts like this would offend a lot of people.

Be careful on how you word your messages unless you do not mind offend people or have thick-skin when it comes to your replies.

Geez Dave, this is the second post I have read where you bit the head off of the OP. Turtlegirl was stating that she is concerned that due to a large capacity resort being completely relocated, AKL might loose some of its tranquility. Seems a perfectly valid concern to me. Actually, I have the exact same concern! I don't care if they had closed the GF and moved all of the guests to AKL, it would still equal more people. Before you give advice about being offensive or having a thich skin, I'd suggest you examine your own insecurities.

I'm sure it'll be fine Turtlegirl... hopefully the "commoners" won't be allowed to mingle with those of us paying rack ! hehehe

Redmic- I didn't post to your original thread, but I can see why someone could be bothered by your most recent stay. I hope that your next stay is more magical!

Ummmm, maybe they referred to the fact that AKL will be packed with CBR relocatees...because lots of people ARE being relocated from the CBR?

Wow! The OP commented on a FACT...I mean, just how crazy is that, what on EARTH were they thinking!?!?!?!

Whether you like it or not, the closure of the CBR is directly affecting occupancy rates of other resorts including AKL. Why suggest otherwise?

The OP has nothing to apologise for - they worded their post just fine.

Now, unless people have some legitimate opinions pertaining to the orginal question, I suggest they think twice before they post.
