There have been a couple of posts on here about Carowinds and other Cedar Fair parks, so I thought I'd give it a go...

We are looking to be in the Kansas City area, sometime this summer -- in keeping with the subject matter, does anyone in the area know of any "deals" (e.g., coupons, drink cans) to get in Worlds of Fun?

Thanks!

Thanks for the reminder about Worlds of Fun. We live in the area, but just don't ever really think about going. This may be a good thing to do for my son's upcoming birthday.

BTW, there is a Discounts & Deals page on their website with an offer to save $5 per ticket if you purchase online.

I heard a Schlitterbahn waterpark opened last summer in the KC area.
Anyone been and did you enjoy it?

There's also great wolf lodge out right by where that opened too. Might be cheaper to stay there and go to their water park for free than pay $30 pp at Schlitterbahn.

Just got back from grabbing a sandwich at Subway, and there were some WOF coupons on the counter. Single ticket price is $19.99, and the coupon says that is $21 off the regular price. Tickets can be purchased in advance by visiting worldsoffun.com/subway, or the coupon can be used at the admission booth for the sale price on up to 4 tickets.

Okay, just looked at the 'fine print' and see that this special pricing is valid ONLY for Sundays from April 17 - June 6. Everyone pays 'Kids Price' on Sundays.

BTW, the offer for Oceans of Fun is $15.99 per ticket ($13 off).

Actually, if we go it will be a Sunday in May - so this works perfect for us. :)

Just a thought...you might try the KC area tv and radio station websites. When I lived there they sometimes had deals for WOF.

As for Great Wolf Lodge...I'd check to see about their latest Health Dept. reviews. We never went because they had horrid reviews...to the point of the health dept. closing their kitchens once. They opened shortly before I moved away, and went downhill right away.

There's also a hotel/waterpark across from Kauffman Stadium. Coco Key I believe. I haven't heard anything bad about them. The city of Independence also has a water park.

Plus, for Disney fans, there's a T-Rex Cafe out by the Nascar track (same area as Great Wolf) and in downtown KC there's a Raglan Road! Both of those opened after I moved, so I can't speak to them personally.

KC has really grown and changed these past 3 years. Too bad they cut the plans for a Lego theme park there...it would have really been a destination then!

JB--are you by any chance military? When we last went we found that the military tickets were cheaper than the current offer (that was a couple years ago.) I don't think they were advertised on their website, but we asked when we got there and were offered a great deal.
