World Showcase relaxation areas questions

Where are the designated relaxation areas in World Showcase located? Are they in the shade? Is there generally a wait to get in and find seats? Do you have to be eating or drinking while there? Will a person with health issues get hassled if they need to rest there without a mask for perhaps 45 minutes to an hour while the rest of their party continues to walk around and shop? Also wondering if there is decent availability of benches/seating areas near the Holiday food kiosks where you can easily sit and eat. We do realize another option is to relax and eat in one of the World Showcase restaurants.

One of them is Akershus so it might be a good place since its in the AC

United Kingdom next to the Rose & Crown Pub has umbrellas.
Norway inside Akershus is covered - as dachsie mentioned.
And there's one between Mission:Space and Test Track that has umbrellas.

Sometimes there can be a wait to get a seat. You do not have to be eating or drinking while in a relaxation area.

No. That's exactly what the relaxation areas are for - for people to relax without a mask.

Sometimes there are benches/seating areas near the food kiosks. But during the busier times you will find them all occupied.

The 45-60 minutes might be an issue. When we went into a relaxation area at AK we were told the time limit was 30 minutes.

I have heard that if the "relaxation" areas are busy, they may limit folks to 30 minutes. Your family member may also use First Aid at any park if they need a place to lie down and rest. I don't know if they would allow him/her to remove the mask, though.

We thought Akershus was the best Relaxation Station in any of the Parks!

Great AC,"Private" Restrooms and wonderful "atmosphere" being inside a Castle built around 1290!!

(If only they would also provide a free Buffet as well!lol)

Agree that Akershus was wonderful! We went in early October and it was hot! It was a welcome break in the AC, with nice restrooms right there and plenty of space. I went and picked up food from various food and wine booths and delivered it back to my husband and kids. We were easily there 45 minutes and it was totally fine. There were only about 4-5 groups in the whole area. There was a cast member at the door and a few inside cleaning tables but no one said anything about a time limit. I honestly don’t think many people knew it was there as an option because the Frozen Ever After lines passes right by the door and people might think it’s closed. It’s thanks to the tips here that I knew to check it out and I’m so glad we did!

We saw the one at Rose & Crown had a line. Plus not all the table have the umbrellas open. Social distancing is in effect. So less than half the tables are open for seating.
