World Series 2022 thread

Boycotting the entire season due to the lockout. I'll be back watching when Spring Training starts.

Also how many WC 2022 commercials have you seen so far on Fox during the game?

Philly fan here but I cannot handle these late nights! I'm a 6am-9:30pm body clock.

Went up for bed when they were down by 5, woke up at midnight when I heard Hubby bellow (was the HR) and ended up watching the rest of the 10th.

What a game but I'm going to be so damn tired today after my random 12-1245am wake up. Ugh!

Timing aside, holy moly with this team. They rarely just show up and put on a dominant top-to-bottom performance, but they eek them out in the end. A win's a win at the end of the day, but boy do they make theirs messy.

I lost count.

Every TV commercial break?
I was thinking it could become a drinking game. Even I didn’t expect to see that many to be honest. The roster announcement isn’t until November 9th and the MLS Cup isn’t until November 5th. I figured that’s when Fox would advertise for the WC since it’s the same sport. I honestly think those ads will annoy baseball fans not convince them to tune in. I just think it was an interesting business decision by Fox. :confused3

I love baseball but the timing that a game can go is one reason I prefer soccer more. But this game was worth the wait to be honest.

The other day a local Philly news station had a story warning fans to only buy Officially Licensed Merchandise, not knockoffs. It said inspectors will be outside the stadium and roaming parking lots citing “entrepreneurs” for selling fake stuff. Also they will be cracking down on unauthorized online sales.

Eh, MLB probably paid for the story. Leave the little businesspersons alone. Support small business instead of lining the pockets of billionaires. Why pay $25 extra for that hologram sticker on official merchandise?

Since I won’t be attending a game, I was a good girl and got my NL Championship t shirt at Kohls. $42, complete with that $25 hologram sticker. :o

I would think knock-off merchandise has always been a thing at all American sports championships to be honest.

Even during regular season. Sidewalk entrepreneurs were actually quite brazen on the streets surrounding Wrigley Field in Chicago, setting up tables and other displays. Some T-shirts were quite vulgar, with slurs against other teams or opposing players. No way those were authorized products.

And I have doubts about the authenticity of products even in brick and mortar stores near stadiums and arenas.

It doesn’t bother me. I’m sure I purchased knockoff merchandise before.

Good luck with that!! I mean, making knock off merch that you're claiming is official isn't ok in my book. But, a lot of this stuff isn't pretending to be real.

Anyone can print a "Grease the Poles" or "Bedlam at the Bank" shirt. Those are more fun than the official stuff anyway.

My favorite piece of 2008 merch is a knockoff World Phucking Champions tee. Hoping to break that out again in a week, fingers and toes crossed!!

I live outside of philly and everyone was asking where there was a tent selling merch. Apparently the cops went around and shut them all down. Sad.
