Continuing my habit of over-planning, I need a bit of advice on which nights to do the World of Color and Fantasmic dining packages.

We will be in park from 9/7 (Labor Day) to 9/11 (Halloween kick-off). I was thinking about Fantasmic on Labor Day in order to eat up some time on the busiest day of the week for us, both with the dinner and watching Fantasmic at night.

Any thoughts or advantages on switching it out with World of Color? I am planning on WoC either the last night, or Tue-Thru in order to eeek out a little extra time in the parks after closing.

Thanks in advance !

Be careful about waiting until the last night for one of the shows. There is always the possibility of it being canceled.
This happened to us once. Ever since we try to get all the shows in the front part of our time at DLR. This way sometimes we'll see one more than once.
But at least we don't worry as much about one being canceled.

I would also opt to do the F! dining package earlier in your trip, rather than wait until the very end.

Do Fantasmic! on Labor Day...JUST IN CASE Disneyland switches Fantasmic's schedule the day after Labor Day such that it's only showing on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and on holidays.

I think VandVsmama is right, there is a really good chance that Labor Day Monday will be the last weeknight showing of F! until May.

Also, when I just booked my F! Dining Package at Blue Bayou (our 1st time, I am so excited!) there was only weekend availability after Labor Day weekend.

Does everyone suspect that there will be 2 shows a night up until then?

The earliest reservation I could get for Friday the 4th was 8:00, which kind of surprised me. It sounds about perfect now, as we will be able to take advantage of potentially shorter lines during earlier the dining hours.

You can't make a F! dining reservation on Monday - Thursday (except Labor Day) starting August 24th which would indicate no weeknight F!.

Good advice! We have found out the hard way ourselves...plan night events early in your trip! We always do F! On our first night now.

They usually present F! nightly from before Christmas (so mid-to-late December) through New Year, along with during the "Spring Break" season.

OP - sorry, I mis-read your original post. I thought you would also be in the parks on Friday (9/11). F! is likely to be presented that evening, but not on Tuesday through Thursday. So, I would try to see F! on Labor Day Monday because that's most likely your only option if you aren't in the park on Friday. WoC should be presented nightly, so you have more chances to see that.

Thanks all for the replies. I will be in park (last day) on 9/11. They are taking reservations for F! on 9/11. Labor Day was blocked out until yesterday so I booked it as well. Good advice, book the earlier one just in case.
