It has been a while since I have done WOC without using the Dessert Party seating. What are the pros/cons of these two standing areas. Is the dining package viewing area much better than the other one? Do you wait in line for less time with the dining package if you want a good spot. (I'll be with a 9 year so she will need a good spot to see). Thank you!

If you want to be in front, your wait will be about the same. People are allowed to stand on the stairs so, if you are at the front of the top stair, a tall person can come and stand a couple of stairs down in front of you, and block your view. We tried to stand near a hand rail to prevent that, but it isn't full proof.

The VQ area is flat. You'll want to get there early if you want to be in front.

Thank you--that's helpful. How early should we get there for either the WCT or VQ area to get good viewing for the first show?

I don't go to WOC regularly so don't know how to advise you. Maybe someone else has been recently.

Oh my--we leave tomorrow and I am second guessing myself. I made reservations at WCT to get reserved area for WOC. Does this still work--do they offer vouchers for this? And do they run out? Should I switch to lunch time on Monday from dinner?

FWIW, We got WOC reserved area with WCT 6:15 dinner ADR. We were able to be right at the fence, one section up from the water with a 30 minute wait. Perfect viewing for a 9 year old.

Fence? The reserved dining area doesn't have a fence. Do you mean rope?

The reserved area for WOC dining packages (Wine Country Trattoria, Storytellers, Magic Key Terrace) starts at the bottom of these steps and fills the round area. The next set of steps up at the back of round area is where the dessert package sits.

We saw WOC Happiness a couple of weeks ago.

This is the view standing at the front of the round area at the top of the first set of stairs.

Pre-show photo to show the roped off path. We got there about an hour before showtime.

During the show to show the view once kids are put on their parent's shoulders.

That's very curious. We had WCT reserved viewing. CMs directed us to an area that had two rows of metal fences. We stood right at the fence with a perfect view just up one level from the water level metal fence. This is our view--she is sitting down waiting for the show with her back to the fence. It's been years since I've done this reserved dining area--I usually do the Dessert Party. @LKing where do you think we ended up?

Adorable picture!
I'm not sure. Now you have me curious. Did you talk to the people around you at all? Were they all Wine Country diners?

I didn't talk with them. I was just focused on engaging with my girl. I remember being happy that there was enough elevation drop that if someone put a child on their shoulders she would still have a great view.

Yes, we were at the "fence" too with our WCT package last week. It's my favorite viewing location!:D

When you entered, did you show your ticket to the CM and walk straight down a roped off area, then turn left? It sounds like they guided you straight (teal dashed line) rather than turning left (red line). @DianaSparrow did you arrive close to show time as well?

I wasn't paying close attention but yes, I would say that your teal line is accurate :).
