World of color dessert party?!

We did this last Monday, and overall it was great. Worth the money? That's debatable because at $80 per person (even children) with no passholder discount, it's really pricey. If you have the money and want a super easy, convenient and comfortable way to watch World of Color, by all means do it.

The service was top notch - all CMs were super friendly and accommodating. I enjoyed the champagne (they offered me a second glass), my mom stuck with coffee because it was COLD and my girls loved the special drink and glowing cups. We were also each given a bottle of water while seated and then given a couple to take with us as well. Hot chocolate was available too, as well as the kids drink but with vodka. The dessert plate was overflowing. I enjoyed the cheese and bread the most. There were a couple of desserts I liked, but overall they were just ok; a little too pre-fab for my liking. My girls didn't eat a thing other than some bread and a bite of a macaron. I really think they should do a more kid friendly option. My girls would have much much preferred a simple ice cream sundae. So from that perspective, it felt like a waste.

But you can't beat the location and being able to watch sitting down on a chair with nothing blocking your view. There is no need to arrive early. Seating is on a first come, first served basis but there is not a bad table from what I could tell. The higher ones are a little better because of added elevation, but the low ones looked good too. I even wish we would have arrived at more like 9:30 (show started at 9:45) because we were cold (we got there at 9:15). It was definitely not sold out - there were a lot of empty tables and we were offered a front and center table despite arriving 15 minutes after it opened.

All in all, I have no regrets and enjoyed the experience very much. I have now done all WOC dining packages, some several times, and they are they way to go to avoid a long wait. The dessert experience certainly is the best if you want to pay the money. :)
Thank you for this excellent review!

I've bought tickets for my partner's birthday present, and the positive reviews are making me so excited for our trip. It will be our first night at DLR, and our first time ever watching WOC. Admittedly I'm the Disney nut so this present is a little bit selfish, but I know he'll be thanking me when we're sitting down with wine and snacks after a park day instead of queuing shoulder to shoulder, shifting foot to foot.

perhaps this has been answered before, but do you get a refund if WOC is cancelled due to winds?

From the Disneyland website:

Cancellations
  • The World of Color show can be canceled due to technical issues or inclement weather without notice.
  • Dessert party packages will not be refunded unless the show is canceled by Park management.
  • This is a pre-paid event—full payment is due upon booking and cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance.
  • Credit Card Guarantee—full charges apply for no-shows.

I went to this last night and thought it was worth the money. We really liked watching the show from seats and the view was great. Desserts and drinks were good and my son got a light up cup. No need to line up in advance - all the seats were good. We got there 45 min prior and they seated us about 5 min later.

I really appreciate all the feedback on this. We're doing Disney 4-5 days in July. 2 days will be with family, and we might do a regular dining package one of those nights, but I think this would be a fun surprise splurge when it's just me and my fiance! WOC is his favorite and he was so disappointed it was closed last year when we went (my first time). I wasn't sure at first with the high pricetag.

I found the wording on that odd. Since we have reservations at the end of April for the show I called for clarification. Weather and technical failure cancelations count as "park management" and full refunds are given.

A picture is worth a thousand words, so a few pictures...

Thanks for that! We have it booked for next Wednesday and right now the forecast is calling for quite a bit of rain that day. I was debating switching it or not because the forecast can change by then. Knowing we could get a refund if it were cancelled means I can wait out the forecast a little before deciding.

This sounds perfect for my pregnant wife who will need a seat!

We have a two year old... Anyone had any problem having a 2 year old sit in your lap for this for free?

Just booked this for our early May trip! Sounds like it's go positive reviews so far... this is my first time to DLR and viewing World of Color, so it seemed like a worthwhile splurge.

Following this thread until then...

We never do WOC because by the end of the day everyone is too tired to fight the crowds and stand. I'm a little crazy, but I would pay this just to be able to sit and watch it without getting pushed and shoved. On one hand I hate that Disney is charging extra for these shows, but the selfish me loves it because now I get to enjoy them. I'm really glad they have started doing this and can't wait till our next trip to try this and the Parades.....which we always miss for the same reason!

Can you change your date once you have paid for the tickets?

Ok Friends,

My disney dining representative had to put me on hold to ask, but she said she made our reservation for 3 people - but because my son is under 3 years old that he wouldn't be charged. That apparently gives him a seat according to her.

Previous to this... I had only found one mention on this thread that said kids under 3 were free. However - that post said that they must sit in your lap and eat off your plate.

She did give me a confirmation number... but she wasn't sure if we would get something in my email. She said sometimes they send a email reminder a few days in advance, but I don't think she got my email address?!

What has you guys experience been with dining reservation emails.

I got an email to confirm our reservation and it specifies 1 day cancellation policy. I booked online.

That is a nice change from the old Fantastic Dessert Seating Policy...although I was able to change reservations on occasion, the official policy was no changes or cancellations at any time window once you made the purchase.

I really would like to do this but 2 adults and 2 kids that is pricey I thought about talking my kids out of Goofys dinner but it still will be a lot more! 300+ I just cant justify esp since my kids prob wont eat most of that I wish they had a kid price!
