World of Color Dessert Party - feedback on new gluten free option at WOC?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has had the NEW gluten free option at the World of Color Dessert Party? Apparently it's an allergy friendly plate that looks drastically different than the old gluten-free plates from just earlier in 2023. We would have LOVED the prior plate with melons and gluten-free pastries. The new dessert plate has "chia parfait, gluten free crème brûlée, gluten free oat crisp and a couple other dessert items with very limited fruit on the plate" according to glutenfreeandthemouse. We do not any of the other allergies, so I'm guessing if we aren't used to dairy-free and plant-based food, it might be a bit strange. I guess it's easier for them to make one plate that covers all allergies. (Well, this allergy friendly one also has tree-nuts which one person in my party cannot have - so I'll have to email the special diets team to see what options are available. UGH.) Anyway, curious if people have tried and like this new allergy friendly dessert plate at WOC???

If you don't have any other allergies, the regular WOC dessert is tree-nut free. However, for anyone with combination allergies, they said we can ask for a plain fruit plate.

Thanks for the update. This is exciting news because desserts are always a challenge with tree nut allergies. Hopefully they confirm everything before our reservation day.

This was the plate I got in November 2023 for gluten and dairy feee. It sounds like what the OP was describing. I’m used to that kind of food after 20 years of it, so it seemed fine. About a 7.5 out of 10. That’s pretty good for gluten and dairy free at a large event! The crème brûlée item was a little different. I couldn’t tell what it was. The oat and the chia desserts were good, and I can’t remember what the square thing was. Mostly I was trying to eat small bites at a time then quickly replacing the cover over the dish because it was absolutely pouring rain!

One caution that might not be relevant any more. It was the Christmas show and they had a festive cocktail option. Unfortunately, they put gingerbread cookie crumbs around the rim of the glass. Not gluten free. I caught it in time, but just a warning to always ask about allergy issues for the drinks too.

does anyone know which one was the cheese & crackers with fruit?

It was horrible and I addressed this with the staff and we were offered a fruit and cheese plate without the crackers. The one-size fits all allergy plate is a disaster for our family. We've done this DP >12 times over the years and they've eroded the quality of the offerings to the point that we are now questioning doing it again. We know we are paying for the seat, but the drinks are terrible and the food on the GF request was inedible. Incidentally, they don't have decaf coffee any more....an later-evening dessert party without decaf.....
