Working on Weight Loss During Training—New Year New Us!

CAM - THAT IS FABULOUS!! We will be here encouraging you along for those 6.8!! You can do anything you set your mind to!!!

Kristi - I say wait on the pants, but only because if I jump into a reward the I give myself an excuse to not continue. Get that .2 off and then jump for joy into those pants. BUT, if you already bought them, disregard this post!!! :goodvibes

I haven't been very good this week. Lots of stress and too much eating out. Tonight I doubled up on veggies and hopefully can get back on track. My saving grace is that I have not gained!!!!! I am also working on getting that water and more water in every day. It really helps with the weight loss.

OK... let's all get back on track or stay on track. Today is Day 1 of Spring, so let's make a positive change in our lives and look great in those shorts!!

I am going to wait on the pants. If for no other reason than our van is in the shop for some $400 repair, then it also needs 2 new tires a.s.a.p. & rear brakes. :sad2:

This is totally OT, but since I was complaining about my work awhile back, I just have to tell you how nice the people here are. (sorry so long!)

There is man named Tito that runs the cafeteria for our building. It's mostly the tv station people here, but there are a couple other businesses also. Everyone loves this man - great friend & very reasonable with what he charges for food.

You may have heard this news story since I do think it went national. Anyway, last week Tito's niece was killed by her ex-boyfriend. He dragged her into an elevator in an office building in Lynn, MA. She pushed their 5 year old son out of the elevator. Her son listened as she screamed & begged his father for her life. The ex-boyfriend/father then blew them both up in the elevator. They both died. Now their 2 children are orphans and living with their grandmother.

People at my station got together donated over $3500 to give to Tito's family for his great niece & nephew! And the reporter convering the story helped set up an account at Bank of America for more donations. We just ran a story about that to help drum up some more funds for those beautiful kids!

Most of the time, I am embarassed about what passes for "news" around here. I think this is the first time I am actually proud of us.

And if I have learned one thing in my life - it's that in the middle of a tragedy, you find out who your real friends are. Tito is a very blessed man.

(ok, enough mushy stuff from me)

Have a great day guys - onward & downward!

Kristi -- That story is so sad, but it is heartwarming to hear about human kindness in the face of sadness. I'm so glad that you get to work with really nice people. Sorry about the van repairs, but I think you need to promise yourself that when you lose again next week, you WILL get the pants because you are worth it!

Okay, I posted this in my journal, but have to make the confession here, as well:

I was dismally undisciplined on food last night. I got home very hungry and didnt' take time to go to the gym because I wanted to spend time with DS. I cooked for him and THEN made dinner for myself (I know better -- I should have munched on carrots or green beans while cooking for him) For dinner, I ate a dr. praeger's veggie burger AND a ham steak on wasa fiber rye w/fat free cheese and dill pickles. THEN, I shared a small frozen calzone with DH when he got home from school. He wanted more than one but not 2, so I split his 2nd one. UGH! THEN, I ate light microwave popcorn AND a weight watchers fudge pop AND some baked doritos (I LOVE the crumbs, but it's not true what they say about the calories falling out! LOL!!! I bet I ate 150-200 calories worth of "crumbs".) Oh, and then I was craving something sweet because I didn't eat a mini kit kat yesterday! So, instead, I had 3 oreos and about 8 oz of skim milk. Needless to say, I was sooo sick to my stomach when I finally sent myself to bed. I am so bad on Wednesday nights. I think because it is a late night at school for DH and I hate to leave DS home alone while I go to the gym and especially when I had a good weigh in Tuesday night. It's almost like I reward myself and figure I have 6 more days to lose before the next WI. Bad Cam!! I have to work on that.
UGH!!! I WILL go to the gym tonight!

Cam - do what you are always telling the rest of us. Move on! I think accounting for what you ate (instead of ignoring it) is half the battle. You will be fine, just stick to plan the rest of this week, ok?

And I will get those workout pants next week!

Speaking of pants...I bought new pants & a top yesterday on my way to WW. The pants are camo! My friend Stacey who is 8 years younger than me thinks I am crazy. Maria at work asked if I was joining the army. I think they are really cute, and, more importantly, look good. Is 35 too old for camo? ;)

:coffee: Hey guys sorry I haven't been on for a bit but I've been preoccupied. My lady, Erica, is in the hospital. She started having chest pains at work and they admitted her for observation. She is on her own floor, being watched over by her coworkers. If you have to have chest pain the place to do it is the nurses desk in the cardiac care unit.

The pain has stopped and she is resting. They will be doing several tests to determine the cause of the pains. She had another scare asout 2 years ago when she had chest pains, they were unable to discover a cause then.

She and I will be back as soon as our world stops spinning so fast.

Dave:)

Dave - OMG! Please let Erica know that we are all thinking about her. Sending a truck load of :wizard: to both of you :grouphug:

I'm still doing okay. Supper was a bomb as we ate at Olive Garden and I'll be out of town traveling for business all this week but I will try to be as careful as I can ;)

They are keeping her in till monday, then they will do a stress test and if she does ok on that she can come home. A stress test is a good idea We don't want to have problems out on a long training walk or during a race.

Dave:)

Just a note- The Fiber One bars (oats & chocolate) are wonderful and very cravable, but does not agree with my intestinal system! I finally figured out what was going on. I'm so sad, cuz I really really like them, and I don't like many things chocolate (I know, I'm strange, but I like white chocolate better.)

I brought Erica home tonight. The Doctor determined that her chest pain is caused by a spasaming artery. He gave her a med to control that. it didn't happen all the time but when it did it caused the pain. They discovered it in the stress test. She had a angioplasti test today and all her arteries are clerar of any blockages.

She is back to work on Friday and back walking on monday.

Dave:)

Dave- I am so glad Erica is home & that is wasnt something more serious.

I just bought some of the Fiber One bars everyone has been talking about. I think that will be my snack this p.m.

Have a great day everyone!

I'm glad she is home to. Now we can get our lives back to normal. With me spending all my time there the laundry and chores are all calling my name now. Of course training has not happened.

Walk strong y'all.

OK kids we really need to get back on track! Update us all on your progess please. I admit I have been really slacking off with my posting but I have still been going in the right direction with diet and exercise. I have decided to substitute Slimfast for a meal or two each day to jump start my weight loss and that has made a big difference. I have also started doing lots of different types of stir fries which works great for me since it only takes 5 minutes to prepare. I allowed myself one fast food meal a week or so ago and I have to admit it tasted SOOOO good. But, one time was enough and I got right back to the diet. I think I am down about 15 pounds since the first of the year and I would like to lose 20 more before the half in January. I would love to lose 10 of that before we go to WDW in June and I think that is doable.

So how about the rest of you? I saw where Cam had gone past the 70 lbs lost mark which is so awesome! I'm looking forward to hearing from all of you!

I was posting and everyone else stopped so I figured it was me running everyone off so I went and sat in the corner and pouted because no body wanted to come out and play.

Week 9 of WW @ work. Today's meeting...9 total pounds. Seriously slacking on the training with Minnie looming :sad2:

Hi!

I'm still here, I've just been having tons of computer issues. I've slacked off on my training, too. I need to get back into it, because dh and I are doing a five mile race in June. I'm hoping to jog for most of it.

Looks like I will be online at home tomorrow night. I look forward to posting more often and getting back into this thread.

Dave -- I'm so sorry to hear about everything you've been through. I'm just glad your life can get back to normal, and Erica is o.k.

I'm looking for a new thing to get me motivated. Any ideas? I love to read, so anything full of health information is always good.

Let's get moving!

Maria, thank you for your kind words. We are almost back to normal, Erica has my cold now so I'm in the dog house there.:rolleyes1

Maria go look in your mirror and tell that person you see that she is worth the effort. Make her a promise you won't let her down. Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of your life. If you ever thought that "if I had it to do over again" well you do. Tomorrow is the first day.

Dave:)

Dave - I hope that was sarcasm buddy because your words are inspirational and you definitely didn't stop anyone from posting :goodvibes

As for me I'm in the same boat as Kristi - definitely not worthy of posting on this thread. And seeing it not on my user thread each time I logged on made it easier to keep eating the crap since I didn't have to report it.

Okay if you all are willing to try this again I'm all for it. I won't be able to post during the day due to work regulations but I'll do my best to get here in the evenings :thumbsup2

I don't want to write this but I'm gonna. I'm at my heaviest ever and I really need to get off my but and my hands out of the Easter candy I bought for my son. It's not been pretty at all :sad2: :sad1:

Tomorrow is a new day and somehow someway I'm going to do this!

We can do this!!!!!!!!!!!!
