I'll be working too. I'm just finishing up my shift from last night (Weds night into Thanksgiving morning). I will go home and sleep, go to my DD's mother in laws house about 4pm for some turkey and then return to work this evening at 7pm. Happy Thanksgiving everyone . Karen

Not quite the same thing but my DH is oncall today, Sat, & Sun. He works in IT for a hospital. Hopefully we will get through our meal okay. Planning on eating 12:30ish. Hope everyone who has to work has a great day.

I am working! But I am an American living in London, so everyone else is working today too. My British colleagues have all been asking questions about Thanksgiving and what we do to celebrate. Looking forward to going home and cooking tonight though! We won't be eating until about 8:30pm though.

Will be working 3-11 today, i am a nursing supervisor. Its part of being in healthcare, you work holidays. Hospitals don't close. It's ok, it's usually pretty fun to work, everyone is laid back and cheerfull. Happy Thanksgiving!!!

My Dh has to work today. He is a police officer and they don't get holidays off either.

I'm a massage therapist and I don't normally work today. But since I'm leaving for Disney in 24 days I'll be responsible and take a few appoinments tonight after the festivities wind up. I figure 2-3 hours in the name of Disney can't be bad right?

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! I'll be at the movie theatre from 11 to 11! Believe it or not, it's one of our busiest days of the year. At least we get holiday pay!

DD is working today so she'll have Christmas off.. She doesn't mind though.. She works in a residential group home for troubled teenage girls and she's looking forward to sharing a Thanksgiving dinner with "her" girls..

And of course it doesn't hurt that by working today, she gets the next 3 days off!

DH is working today and tomorrow. However, he is making double time and a half, so neither of us complains. He will be home around 3:30 (works from 5 AM to 3 PM).

My DH has to work tonight too. He doesn't go in 'til 5pm, so he's still around to enjoy most of the day. He's in the newspaper industry and since the news waits for no one, he ends up volunteering to work most holidays. The bonu$ i$ nice!

but next year I will be working--

I also work in a hospital--so we get every other holiday and weekend off--

this year I get to work Christmas

I was lucky though cause for some reason our hospital if a holdiay lands on a weekend the weekend schedule takes hold so the last 3 christmases Ive been off--Mon counts as the holiday when Christmas day falls on a sun!! but it was my weekend off Im sure there'll be a pay back time sometime though!!!!

My DS is also a police officer so he works 3 shift and worked Wed nite into Thurs then he has to go back Thurs nite he doesnt start till 11pm so hes off for the turkey part but he has to get some sleep in too!!!
