Work is killing me (not the way you think)

Ok, I have an opportunity to do some instruction for new hires at work. There are 3 locations where the training is taking place. Atlanta, Dallas and Anaheim. The one at Anaheim is at the Hilton right across from DCA.

I figure, great, if I can go to Anaheim, it's for 10 days, I can bring the family and have a great vacation.

Where do I go? Dallas

ARRRRRGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!

That's too bad. But I guess that's how the cake crumbles.

Bummer ~ my mom for work has been to conferences in Anaheim *2006 and San Diego *2009 & 2010 - we went with her for 06 & 09.

Hey ~ maybe next time.

That stinks!

A few years back I had to fly to LA for business (my client was actually Disney, oddly enough). Anyway, meeting ran late, and I missed my flight out of Burbank, which was the last flight back to Seattle. The guy I was traveling with really wanted to try to make back home that night, so he rebooked us out of SNA. We drove for 3 hours and missed our second flight and tried finding a hotel in Santa Ana, which we couldn't find, so we ended up staying at the HoJo. That was torture.

Not to dis Dallas. I actually like Dallas. But in lieu of being across the street from DCA on work's nickel?

No contest.

that sounds like the occasional "nightmare" I have about Disneyland!! Lol....

Well, we'll be glad to have you! Lots to do here, but I agree, it's not Disney.....

Dude, that totally sucks. I hope you have fun in Dallas anyways. I like Dallas a lot. I wouldn't mind moving down there but I stay in Taxifornia just for DL.

haha you sound like me!!
I have family in Dallas that I have only seen twice! Both times I visited I loved the area.
I would really move there if California wasn't full of such amazing things! :rotfl:
Texas is wayyy cheaper in the housing department as well!! My family there has this amazingly pretty brick house in a great neighborhood and it's much cheaper than my parents house which is smaller and just normal looking.

I love Dallas too. Don't mind going. It's just the lost opportunity that hurts.

There are so many reasons it would make sense to move there. Cheaper COL being a huge one. But then I think, DL would be soo far and that sort of trumps all.
