I'm up in the air about wording for our invites.

Would you use:
1) You are cordially invited to attend the wedding of ..............

or does that sound to informal. Should I stick with the traditional

2) The hounor of your presence is requested at the marriage of ......

I know the big dillema of using "The hounor of your presence" only in a church setting or place of worship, but that is not really a concern of mine. I just want to know if choice number 1 sounds appropriate, or does it sound too informal for a wedding? I certainly don't want to sound too informal.

my invitations read.......

in the spirit of the magic that brought us together we michele and keith invite you to join us for a fairy tale wedding--- the beginning of our happily ever after........

I would use the cordially invited.......:teeth:

I used the Honour of your presence is requested...

And I got married at YCG, I figured my family doesn't give two hoots about a word on the invites. And I was right!

Both are great! Just don't use: the honor of your presents (instead of presence) :p

We used
________ invite you to share in the joy of the marriage uniting _____ & ______.
We Cordially invite you sounds to informal to me.

we used:

together with their parents,
ryan and jennifer
invite you to share in their joy...
