I'm trying to make a name filled with a picture and the directions sound sooo easy, but it's really not:rotfl: I made the wordart and right-clicked to format, but when the window pops up the picture option is grayed out. Anyone know what I can do to fix this?? I have a Mac so I'm wondering if that's the problem... but I feel like if it's there and just grayed out I must be doing something wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated:)

It isn't a mac problem. I had a simliar problem when I was trying to rotate a picture. When I went to draw...I was not able to click on "free rotate" as it was "grayed out" like yours. For some reason when I clicked on "rotate left 90" it opened up the "free rotate". I wish I could tell you what specifically to click on to open it up...but there is something there that will open it up for you.

Here were the original steps...are you doing step #5

1. Open up Microsoft Word.

2. Go to insert > WordArt > then select the style of text you prefer

3. Type your text, choose the size you want the text to be, then click OK. If you want the image/pattern to show pretty well in the text, you'll need a bold or big text like Impact, Arial Black, etc.

4. Right-click on the text > Click 'format WordArt'

5. A window should pop up, then under 'fill', click 'fill effects'

6. Click the tab that says 'picture' > select picture > choose the image/pattern you want > Click OK.

7. Then VOILA! You should have your image/pattern filled text! You can drag the sides or corners/box to change the size of the text to your liking.

Thanks for responding! I pretty much followed those steps, but because my word is for Mac it's set up a little bit different. After I click on the format wordart a window pops up with all kinds of options like colors and lines and that's where the picture is grayed out. I've been playing around with some of the options trying to get it to open up the picture part, but so far no luck:confused3

BTW I've checking out your stuff pretty much all day... it's amazing!!!!:worship:

Good news... I have figured it out. When I click on format and the window pops up... instead of trying to get the picture up top to not be gray... I need to click on color under fill (not fill effects like I guess it is on a PC) Just figured I'd update in case anyone else was having the same problem!

Now I just need to figure out how I can get the picture better placed so the faces show up in the letters!

Thanks for the praise! Glad that you like my things. Congrats on figuring out the problem! I posted it on the "How to DISign Using MS Word" thread so that others won't have the same problem.
