Word of warning for those of you with lots of the Incredibles pins

We just got back from WDW and we did quite a bit of trading. Virtually every CM had one of those Incredibles pins on from the recent sale at disneyshopping.com. If you plan on doing alot of trading make sure you have some additional pins as you will find few opportunities to trade those pins with CMs.

Unfortunately, they have become very much like the 2000 dancer pins and Kodak pins were over the past year or so :sad2:

I have to concur with Haygan, we just got back and almost every CM had one of those oval, white, Incredible family pins.

If a CM already has a pin on their lanyard, will they accept a trade for a duplicate pin?

We leave in a about a month and I still have a few of these - so thanks for the head's up!

Usually the cast members will politely tell you "I already have one of those" if you try to trade them a pin that is already on their lanyard. (At least that has been our experience)

:yay:

Nope, if it is already on their lanyard, you must offer them a pin that they don't have.

I mad the mistake of buying 350 of the dreaded 2000 dancing ribbon pins when they were absolutely at their peak. I traded 180 in 6 days at WDW 30 at WOD in NYC and 140 in 4 days at DL. You just need to keep your eyes open.

They are not supposed to but as a CM told us last year when we asked her about 2 of the same she had on her lanyard. Her reply was "she just can't say No to the little kids."

DS7 just started trading on our first DL trip back in June. We bought about 30 of those Incredibles pins when we got home for our August WDW trip and didn't see any CMs with them on--VERY EASY to trade. Cuties, however, were EVERYWHERE!

I just left WDW today and had 15 days of pin trading. We traded about 500 pins and we had a ball. I saw very few 2000 dancer pins, I think they have finally died down. I probably saw more Kodak pins then Dancers. I saw only 2-3 incredibles pin every day and only saw acouple of the United Way pins. Believe me, I was checking every lanyard that I came across. However, I must say that the Cutie pins are everywhere and I do mean EVERYWHERE. You can count on at least half of every lanyard being filled with them. Some of the CM lanyards were 100% full of Cuties pins. It's a shame - almost worse then when the Dancer pins were everywhere.

I was able to trade for quite afew of the Series 4 lanyard pins that I needed to complete my sets. There were lots of CM lanyard pins on the lanyards and I was pleasantly surprised.

I was somewhat disappointed in the attitudes of the CMs when I was trading with them. When my granddaughter was with me, the CMs were great and talked to you but when she went home and it was just DH and me trading, they were not very friendly. They acted like you were bothering them. Now I'm not a pin shark and I don't grab the good pins just to resell them on eBay. In fact, I put about 100 Series 4 lanyard pins back into circulation, some CMs even made comments when I gave them a CM lanyard pin as a trader. I trade solely for the pleasure of adding to my collection but their attitudes were disturbing. Oh well . . . . we still had fun.
