I know all of us are so good at taking pictures. We capture it all! But the one thing we don't (or at least I haven't) is capture our self on film or ourself with dear friends. Since I have been scrapping alot this month I have found this to be some what of a problem and rather sad. I lost a dear friend and realized now I have no pictures of just the two of us. I am scrapping our trip right now and it would be so nice to do a picture of just us but that picture was never taken because I was always behind the camera. We have some group shots but even those I am behind the camera more than in front of it.
So keep that in the back of your mind. Don't worry about your weight, or bad hair day or the yucky out fit you have on. Just get your picture taken!

Thank you for your smart advise - you are sooo right -
I am sorry you don't have any pics of you and your friend together

I agree totally -- looking back at our last Disney trip from December, I took 495 digital pictures in all and there's only 3 at most with me in them. Thankfully, one of them is of my DD 11 and myself at Castaway Cay, which turned out really nice, weight & all!

Have a good night,
Brenda

A very good point! I am definitely not in the photos as much as everyone else. Especially in some of the things I'm very involved in...hmm....need to think about a way to fix that! Maybe since DS is taking a photog class this semester he'll get into the habit of taking his (my extra) camera with him to a few events and get some of those shots.

I always felt the same way until we went to WDW while I was on chemo and I decided what would have happen if this could have been my last trip with my family they would not have had any pictures of me to look back on so I started giving up the tight grip I've always had on the camera and let someone else take pictures with me in it for a change. Still don't like having my picture taken but OH WELL!!!

Good point, Spinning! Thanks for the reminder. We all have to keep this in mind when taking pictures.

Good point! As much as I hate having my picture taken, I made sure that dh or someone else took some pictures with me in them on our cruise. And we bought some of the professional pics that they took on board of the whole family.

I know I am always the one taking pics! I force dh to get some with me in them because darn it I want to be in pictures too :teeth:

WIth me, it's only me & dh. So, we rearely have pictures of the 2 of us. Dh did get a photo or two of me this weekend, but he still did not do it the way I asked him and set the camera up for. We were sledding, so I finally figured out how to do teh repeating photos. He decided that we were moving too fast for that. (yeah, that's why I wanted that.)

What's been nice, is that my brother, my mom and my SIL have digitials, so I get a few more of me now.

Thanks for the reminder Spinning. Marc and I usually have the camera's when we are on vacation, so we usually catch each other. For us its remembering to take a pic together. So usually we have one of the kids do that. Of course now that they are all grown , we have been considering taking some vacations just us two. So will have to remember to ask someone to take our's. I'm sorry you and Vicki never got a chance to take a picture together.

Timing of this post was funny in my house! I just developed pictures from this summer, in our pool. Every picture "I'm in" are my hands holding up my daughter on a float with her brothers. Somehow my husband finally convinced me to take a picture WITH my kids, and while it isn't the best, I'm glad I did it.
For years I've been the "behind the scenes mom" Society has so drilled that "Perfection" is what looks good on film, that those of us who are less than perfect hide from the evil add ten pounds camera!

You're so right. I have hundreds of pictures taken since DS was born and maybe 5 with me in it. If something happened to me, he wouldn't have any pictures of me :(

My husband carried a camera and I still have only one picture with me in it :-( Not very flattering either. can that be how he sees me? :-(

Every family vacation I seem to be the family photographer. Never any pics of me. Now that DD is 13 she will take the camera away to take pics of DH and myself. I keep telling myself I need to give up control, but I just can't seem to do it.

Ohmygosh...this post hits close to home! :goodvibes I'm the one always taking the pictures. We just got back from our cruise and have zillions of pictures of DH and DSs. Fortunately, I bought a lot of the professional shots and they always make sure the whole family is in them.

Word to the wise...I did give DH a disposable underwater camera and asked him to use it when we went snorkeling. I had one also. One of the shots he took was of me when I was standing in the water up to my shoulders. But, he took it underwater! So, it's just my not very attractive body with NO HEAD!!! If they don't take pictures, there might be a reason! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I am the picture taker too, seldom is a picture of me, and very few of the three of us together, but I think that is going to change.

We just got back from my DD's birthday party where I brought my old and my new digital camera. I gave one of the cameras to a friend and asked him to take whatever pictures he wanted. Imagine my surprise when I uploaded the pictures to Shutterfly and found several of me. :wave2:

This is a wonderful reminder to take pictures on good hair days, bad hair day, any day at all.
