Flying out of Buffalo for our 3rd year!

Departure Flight - JetBlue, direct flight for a family of 4, $507.60 USD
Return Flight - AirTran, direct flight for a family of 4, $382.80 USD

Not bad, a little more expensive than prior years but I'm still pleased. :thumbsup2

We just booked our flights too. About $100.00 more than last time, but soo much cheaper than flying out of Toronto.

Us too. We booked SW on the way down & AT on the way home & it cost us a little bit more than last year, especially when we booked for $69 each way last year per person!

Great job on the flights! We are going in November too (10-16) and I got our flights out of Calgary for $345 CAD with all taxes per person. That is the best deal that I have ever gotten out of Calgary. We are flying American.

Wow! That's an amazing price from out west. Good for you:thumbsup2

Gee, you Toronto folk bug me. Can't image driving for hours from Ottawa to a large US airport to get such a deal. So we put up with $300pp each way. On the other hand, considering it is March break, we have our flights booked 300+ days in advance. Our 2011 flight was booked back in April!!

One thing we love is that Westjet has a huge gap between arrival and departure time (they fly an extra leg between), so it is like getting a whole extra day with Mickey!

We are going in Dec and thanks to a tip from a dis member we got direct flights out Pearson for 294.00 return. This was back in Feb. So there are deals around.

Going in November also:cool1::cool1:

SW- direct flights- 56.50 each way. Got them for $69 then used the $25 coupon.:thumbsup2

We paid $887.00 USD(AirTran-seat selection included) for 5 in Feb 2011. I am happy with anything around $200.00. Less is better of course:thumbsup2

Hey I was going to call you! Lauren & I are going Nov.6-13 BUF to MCO with AirTran. First time to US/IOA but staying at Bonnet Creek & going to MVMCP so I can get my Disney fix. When are you going? PM/email me I have about a zillion Universal questions for you.

We booked direct flights from Detroit for $877 for 4. Oct 23-Nov 6/10. Great times too! I did see a cheaper price around $630 after I booked but I am happy with our price & flight times. We are newbies, so times & direct flights were important.

Like the other Jet Blue PPs, we're paying more this year.

Last year - $460 Cdn for 3, return
This year - $590 Cdn for 3, return

I moaned and groaned about the price increase... until I checked the prices out of YYZ  and reminded myself of how great it is to fly out of BUF.

We normally fly out of Buffalo averaging $800us for our family of 4.
But I got a steal of a deal with Air Canada for direct flights leaving Nov 29. It was $1100 Canadian incl taxes! :yay: I couldn't pass that up. Now we only have a 1/2 hour drive instead of 2 hours (thats if there isn't a huge line up at the border).

We're planning our trip for February 2011 and seriously considering flying out of Syracuse. JetBlue has a non-stop flight SYR>MCO. Last I checked flying from Syracuase would be $1200 for four of us (roundtrip, taxes included) vs. $2500 out of Ottawa. That's a savings of over $1000! Seems like well worth it for the hassle of a 3 1/2 hour drive, and likely an overnight stay the night before the flight.

I've never tried flying out of the US, but I this might be our first time unless a good seat sale comes along.

Just booked flights yesterday for my DD & her boyfriend in November for $79 each way with Southwest!

We used air miles:rolleyes: for our Nov trip....Halifax to Orlando...down going thru Montreal ...and back going thru Toronto....paid $196 in taxes for each of us total....with 4 that = just under 800.00....we were very excited!

Another thing I love is that we can stay overnight in Buffalo, which includes our hotel, parking for two weeks and shuttle service all for $119. Seriously, Park-N-Fly in Toronto alone would cost more than that. So it's a no brainer for us to fly from BUF.

I've flown (?, is that a real word?) Jet Blue from SYR, I think it was one of the BEST flights to MCO I’ve ever had! From Peterborough its 4 hrs which is a little longer than Peterborough to BUF but it was a direct flight. I would do it again in a heartbeat. I also met alot of people on the flight that were just like you, from Ottawa but drive to SYR for the price.

My biggest (well 2nd biggest issue) besides the taxes, flying from TO is the time factor. For me (or anyone for that matter) you need to be at YYZ- 2 hours before flight time in order to clear customs. Whereas if I drove to BUF or SYR it adds 1-1 1/2hrs on to the drive time but cuts WAY back on boarding time and hassles of the endless miles of walking with bags at Pearson. If the prices were identical or close than yes I would fly from TO but since the prices & taxes don't compare....I usually always pick a US domestic flight vs flying from Canada. This rule doesn't apply to over sea’s flights
