Just came out this morning.

I booked for 35% off a standard room at AKL for our July trip.

After seeing spring's passholder discounts and availability, I was a bit bummed, but 35% at deluxe resorts is not bad at all. Even the values have a 25% discount. There was a lot of availability at most resorts this morning.

AP holders, get them while they are hot!

wish I was planning on going in the summer but going in a couple of weeks then not back again until Sept. for F&W. Fingers crossed they have some decent discounts for then. I think I've only been able to get a better discount with my AP once, most of the time I've come out better using the general public discount and going to through Orbitz.

I have had the same experience. I used my AP discount last summer at AKL, but my other stays I have used FD or the general public discount through Orbitz.

Since July discounts have not been released to the general pubic, I went ahead and booked because I am not sure if AKL standard rooms will be available through the general discount. If they are and I can use a 15% or 20% discount through Orbitz, I will probably rebook through them.

Hope you have a great trip and that you get some good discounts for September. We have a bounceback booked for September, largely because I hate waiting on pins and needles and fighting for those FD rooms. I like knowing I have my room booked and ready to go.

I just called 2 different times , the first CM kept trying to give me pricing for the actual AP pass
The second one told me July discounts weren't out Guess I'll try again!

How strange. I booked online yesterday. I find that regular CMs are not well trained on APs or the benefits that go with them. One CM at guest relations flat out told me that she did not handle anything related to APs and that I should just call the number in the AP booklet if I wanted an AP discount (I was trying to book the Wild Africa Trek and use my AP discount. I had my credit card out and ready to pay, but when she told me I had to call and she couldn't help me, I walked away and, for a variety of reasons, decided not to book. Disney lost our reservation on that one). Seems to me that all CMs should be well informed about all issues related to APs, or at least connect us directly with someone who can help us, but seems we are in a different category from other guests.

That is great. Do you know if they ever get extended to August? Trying to go at the end of August.
Thanks!

I am sure they will have AP discounts for August but when they release them is a big question. Seems like sometimes they release them after the general public offers, but with July they released them early. I would keep checking the website. When I am looking for a discount, I spend a minute or two each morning checking the site to see if they have been released. Since the current offer goes through July 31, August will be next. Probably several weeks before they release those, but we can never be sure. The ones for Spring were out for a long time before the July rates were released.

Thank you so much for your response. I will check often.

I know, right? I was expecting worse based on the reduction in discounts and discount availability over the last year.

Still not a cheap vacation, but definitely worth the price.

Is there a way to see what the rate would be before purchasing the AP? The website just puts me to the page to purchase a pass. I am trying to decide if the AP is worth it but I can't tell if the campsites at Fort Wilderness are included or not. Our dates are July 18th to 27th.

I just checked. No AP discounts for tents or campsites for those dates. I don't think I have ever seen discounts for the tents or campsites. They almost always seem excluded from discounts.

Honestly, I would not buy an AP for the room discounts. It is rarely much better than the GP price. Maybe $10-15 a night- and if you can find an Orbitz discount on top of the general public price, that rate is often better than the AP discount.

I love my AP, but I love it for the freedom it gives me and now the photo pass is included. I would not spend extra money on it for the discounts. Even the merchandise and food discounts are generally the same with my Disney Visa as with an AP.

Edited to add that I found the general public spring discount better for me than the AP spring discount for my last minute trip at a mod, but it's all good.

Thanks for checking. I haven't seen a campsite discount since AAA. We camped off-site last time, its hard to fork over $100+ for a slab of concrete, but I miss the fort.

No problem. I understand your dilemma. My family stayed at the Cabins a couple of years ago and fell in love with FW. DH said he thought it would be fun to rent an RV and stay there. I laughed and told him by the time we rent a nice RV and pay the hookup fee, we could stay in a theme park view room at the CR.

I'm a new passholder and can't see that offer anywhere on the site. :(

Click on a room at regular rate. At the top, it will say to click this link if you want to log in as a passholder to view additional discounts. The link will be in blue.

Click on it and log in. Then make sure the passholder button is clicked at the top to view passholder discounts (sometimes there are multiple offers going on at the same time and the various offers will be at the top of the page. You have to check the circle with the offer you want).

You can also click on "Where do I find special offers" under the help section of Disney's site. Click on the Passholders save up to 35% this summer one and it will allow you to log in as a passholder.

Make sure your AP is linked to your MDE account.
