And is it crowded, hard to get a seat? I'll be solo, so no one to "scout" for me. I'm thinking of trying it out in the evening, and I'm hoping that since people tend to do Counter Serve for lunch and TS for dinner, it will be less crowded. Also, any recommendations of what's good there?

Here is the menu...

And her was the line July 9th at lunch time...

The Monte Cristo is no longer offered (that’s what we had and liked it) and the tater tots were terrible. All of the seating is outside with some covered with umbrellas and fans blowing. There were several people saving seats or just taking up tables without eating.

You are the second poster here who I’ve seen say that the tots were awful.

How can they mess up tater tots? :confused3 They are like the easiest things on Planet Earth to make.

The tots are baked...so if people are expecting that fried taste, they're going to be surprised. I don't know if that's why people think they're "awful" or not, but I do know that they are baked (and therefore safe for gluten-free people).

It's good. There is very little seating. The line moves slowly, and it takes a long time for the food to be ready. The brisket grilled cheese and pasta salad were both fantastic. They do have to go boxes, so you can ask for one if you can't find a seat, and take your food elsewhere to eat (ABC Commissary is the closest, and is indoors and air conditioned).

I wonder why they got rid of the Monte Cristo? I guess nobody liked it?

I've read on more than one source that the speculation is the bread - being french toast - was making the production time longer than desired and holding up the food prep.

Makes me wonder how much longer the s'mores breakfast thing will be on the menu if that's the real reason. It could just be a matter of them coming up with something else since that would leave only 2 entree options (and 1 for kids if I read the menu right) if they removed that immediately.

Aren't all tater tots gluten-free? I mean, they're just shredded potatoes...?

Not if they are fried in a fryer with other things that have gluten - like anything with breading on it. The residue left in the oil from the breading contaminates normally gluten-free things like tater tots. That's why unless they are made in a dedicated fryer, french fries or fried tater tots are not considered safe for people who need gluten-free food.

I bake tater tots at home frequently.

The store brand can be a bit bland, but McCain’s or Ore-Ida are always very good.

All you gotta do is flip them once or twice. Easy-peasy.

Ahhh! I didn't think of that. Gosh, I feel so sorry for people with food allergies. Eating out is a break from cooking for me. For folks with allergies, it's at best a hassle and at worst a potentially serious risk. Thanks for the info!

Yeah - I always have to look at menus and ask to see what options are available for me. There are times when the only choice is salad with the croutons left off. And desserts I always have to ask about nuts because I have a peanut ingestion allergy (I am ok with things made in a facility with - just not peanuts or their products).

I would love to not have had to learn to deal with these - but my body decided around 7 years ago to not like peanuts, and then 2 years ago my doctor asked me about a wheat allergy (I asked about her thoughts on gluten-free to lose belly fat since that was a thing then) which technically my testing for peanuts showed but I did not think i actually had as I did not think I was reacting to. But my air flow had never been what my doctor wanted in spite of symbicort and a rescue inhaler. When I said “Well...” she told me to go gluten-free and see what that did...and surprise surprise, no more need for a rescue inhaler even when I had a cold or allergies. So...

It is a pain, but it keeps me healthy. Thankfully Disney makes it relatively easy.

I didn't consider people might be just sitting there, taking up tables without eating, but it makes sense (rude, but I can see it happening). Guess I'll go elsewhere to eat.

I love tator tots, but chilli on tots (or even fries) makes me gag. No thank you! However, I will eat them with the cheese sauce. yum! :) I might try that next trip. Bummer that they're baked and not fried, but oh well. At least you save some calories. Lol.

Does anyone know if the "pop tarts" are available at breakfast? I love the idea of eating them as I wander around Toy Story Land after Rope Drop.

For the dining plan, is ordering an entree with tater tots considered a QS meal and a snack or just a QS meal?

JMHO...but if this is Woody's Lunch Box...why isn't there anything in it that would actually BE in a lunch box? Except the kids' meals. ?? Again...JMHO.
