My DH and DS will be staying at the WL in July. They have a woods view room reserved. We have never stayed there before - just visited. What should I request for them for a woods view room? Any special room numbers to request? - Thanks!! :)

We had room #5035 (5th. Floor  ) This is a non-smoking
room. You can see the Magic Kingdom Castle & monorail from the balcony. The fire works can also be seen too.

What are the sleeping accommodations? 2 Q's or 1 Q and Bunks?

We stayed on the first floor facing a pond. We had a small patio. I typically don't prefer first floor rooms and was disapointed as we went to the room. I was pleasantly surprised at how much fun we had in this location. Every morning a parade of ducks would come by our patio. These ducks were very friendly. My children had a great time feeding them each morning. A family of otters lives in the pond. We were routinely treated to several episodes of the otters playing. They would bolt out of the woods and fling themselves into the pond. They would play games of chase and sometimes just float across the water. They were so amazing. We found ourselves reluctant to leave the porch and start our days. We were also treated to several other forms of wildlife. Several different types of birds and rabbits were seen. We stayed at AKL last year and loved it; however, we will are returning to WL this year and are requesting woods view, 1st floor facing the pond. One other benefit of this location was it really was a short walk down the hall to the pool and a short walk in the other direction to the snack bar.

WHAT ROOM NUMBER WAS THAT??? THAT SOUNDS PERFECT FOR US!!! MY 2 YEAR OLD LOVES THE OTTERS AT THE ZOO!!AND PIP AND POP, TOO(FROM BEAR IN THE BIG BLUE HOUSE-FOR THOSE WITHOUT LITTLE ONES!!):earsgirl: I WAS ACTUALLY GOING TO START RESEARCHING THE BOARD FOR ROOM #'S TO REQUEST... HOW IS THE BEST WAY TO GO ABOUT IT WITH WL? FAX? PHONE?

I can't remember the room number. I've always faxed my request three or four days before my arrival date. The room was also a non-smoking bunk bed room. My daughter has asthma and on this trip all I had requested was bunk beds and non-smoking.

They need a non-smoking 2 queen bed room. Does Room #5035 fit that description? the MK and monorail view would appeal to them!

Do you know if any of the 1st floor patio rooms connect? I would love to have the ducks and the otters with a bunk bed, but we have connecting rooms because of my mom's medical condition.
So I definitely need to know if the 1st floor rooms connect.

I've always been told that it's not great to request specific room numbers, that it's better to request exactly what you want - such as what floor, what view, near elevators, etc. Remember that they prioritize the list of preferences - first item given is highest priority - then if they can't give you that the second item has highest priority - so arrange your list properly before giving them the preferences. If you *do* request a specific room number, be sure to put all the requests that you would want into the list as well, in case they can't give you that room.

grumpyandbashful & dtuleya , I was mistaken about the room number. I had the right floor though; after looking at my check out paper work, I realized it was room #5032. sorry! It has 2 queen size beds. All the other things I said above are the same.
Except the otter pond just below the room. They are fun to watch in early morning & evening.

We stayed at WL last year and were in Rm 2019. It was a Queen/2bunks rooms overlooking a pond. It was nice, quiet, and very convenient.

I have never requested a room number, but I will request N/S, 2 queens, upper floor "in the vicinity of Room 5032" and see what I come up with! Thanks for your info.
We will be at the "real" Old Faithful Inn earlier in the summer, so DH and DS will have fun comparing the Disney version. :)

ok we had the best room there last year! ask for a room that faces north(and mk) on the top floor, with bunk beds. this should get you a view of the mk fireworks everynight!
