If I'm figuring it right, it's still slightly more than floridaorlandotickets.com for a 10 day no expiry, with pluses and hopping. Theirs are $362 with tax added. I know SOG has no tax, but aren't their tickets still a tad more? Of course you don't have to buy them in advance.

I found that their room prices were higher than what I could get reserving Disney on-site through AAA also. Of course, the fact that the room rates are scaled based on rank does affect it so maybe enlisted can do better staying at SOG. In addition, for longer stays or multiple visits in a year annual passes are the way to go.

If someone is staying longer in one trip or will be making more than one trip in a calendar year, getting an Annual Pass makes more sense than the MYW tickets. By the way, is SOG actually cheaper for anyone than staying at the other on site properties? I know it certainly wasn't for me when I looked into it before booking our last trip. Now we do DVC so it doesn't matter.

btw: I'm justifying the 8 days at OKW in late May/early June as hot weather acclimation before Ft Sam in San Antonio- anyone else going to be up for a run?

Don't forget that there is no tax on the room cost at SOG. That will save about $12 a night.

If your rate is $104 at SOG, you'd have to get a rate of 92 or less at another resort to come out the same price after tax.

Also the SOG rooms are larger than most - 480 sq ft.

The rooms at pop century are 260 sq ft.
The rooms at PO are 314 sq ft.

I found a room for next December--a one bedroom suite at SOG for $250/night. My husband's rank is Major...so I thought that was an excellent rate! A regular room was running $120...that is dirt cheap, in my opinion!

Considering the size of the rooms (two queen beds plus sofa bed), no tax, and the location (walk to the monorail), there is no better value on property.

We recently stayed at SOG in the 1 bedroom suite. Check the link to part 2 in my signature if you would like to see photos.

The suite is HUGE! 2 full bathrooms, each with a separate double sink area. The LR has 2 pull out couches and a murphy bed in the wall. A dining table, plenty of dresser space, a sink, fridge, cabinet space and a coffe maker.

IMO, Definitely worth the $250 a night.

DMRick: The discount is on the park ticket itself, the no expiration option is exactly the same as WDW offers except that SOG charges no tax. The 7 days from WDW is about $217 (with tax) whereas SOG has it for $195 and (again) charge no tax.

We walked to the poly a few times~about 5 minutes from lobby to lobby.

Yes, you can sometimes get lower rates at Disney's moderate resorts, but SOG is more akin to a deluxe. The rooms are some of the largest on property, with 2 queens and a daybed, inside corridors, etc. When it was Disney owned and operated (the Golf resort and later, the Disney Inn) it was classified as a deluxe.
