I had to share this somewhere! My husband just wasn't as impressed as I was hoping for!:rotfl:

I sold my college textbooks back to amazon through the buyback program (my bookstore wasn't taking back ANY of them) and got enough credit back to purchase my Kindle for $20!

Merry Christmas to meeee!

Where would I look for this program? I've got some textbooks that I'd love to get out of the closet they college will not buy them back.

If you look under the "textbooks" section at amazon.com(go to books tab, use the textbook button) and it will open up a page. At the top there is is link to the buyback program. You search by ISBN number and they will give you the price they are willing to pay. When you are finished, you will get the option for either a free pre-paid shipping label for USPS or UPS. In a few days, you will be notified via email that your credits are deposited and you'll have your $$ for goodies at amazon :)

You can check with Bigwords to see who is paying the most for the books. http://bigwords.com/ I sell my books back this way each semester. This time I did select a buyer that was not highest as the highest wanted me to send the books back media mail and for a couple dollars less I could send it with the other books through fedex and get a check faster through a different buyer.

Just an FYI, you'd probably get more $ selling the books yourself on Amazon. Just create a seller's account (it's free) and list your books on Amazon's page for that book. I used to do that in grad school and would make back most of what I spent on a used copy.

:) Thanks for the tip! I will have to try that next semester. I was going to sell them on eBay, but after this past semester, I was too "pooped to pop" as my mom would say. Classes M,T,W,Th and working F,Sat,Sun makes for a very dull girl
