The Disney web site still has Buzzy and Making of Me listed as attractions. What gives? Do they still plan on opening them sometimes?

Carla

I don't think Wonders of Life will see the light of day again. I've heard that they've already started gutting its interior. It wasn't even shown on the Epcot Flower & Garden Festival map - instead there's just a blank green area between Energy and Mission:Space.

Yes, it is closed, and has been for some time. It will be closed until further notice.

What really happened? Is it closed?

There was a lot of discussion on several threads a few months ago about whether "Wonders of Life" and its attractions, "Cranium Command", "Making of Me" and "Body Wars" were gone forever or just "resting" until needed ("Closed Seasonally").

Back then, the official WDW website had the most CONFUSING listing that said:
* Cranium Command: Open Seasonally [April 1- April 31, 2006]
* The Making of Me: Open Seasonally [April 1- April 31, 2006]

That led many (most) readers to believe that it meant that these attractions would be OPEN from (in this case) [April 1- April 31, 2006].

The contrary was true.
It actually meant that these attractions would "remain CLOSED" (in this case) [April 1- April 31, 2006].

But it was confusing BIG-TIME (and caused a lot of discussion between the posters as to its meaning).

WELL...
The Disney folks have "fixed" this confusing listing.

I copied the following (month-by-month) from the WDW Calendar Epcot site:

So, it looks like these attractions will not EVER re-open (considering that they are not open at all during the Summer... not even around or on July 4th, one of THE busiest times at WDW or at Christmas either).

Sad to say that, as I really loved these attractions, but at least the listings are no longer ambiguous.
I just wonder WHY they bother to specifically list them AT ALL??

Specifically to Body Wars, the rumor is that it is no longer even "in the building" as the ride system was supposedly shipped to another non-US Disney park for use as a "Star Tours" attraction at that park.

BTW, "Making of Me" (the WoL film starring Martin Short) was created by Glenn Gordon Caron.

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0139111/

Mr. Caron was the creator/producer in the 1980's of the phenomenal ABC comedy "Moonlighting" (starring Cybill Shepherd & Bruce Willis) and Mr. Caron now has again scored high with the NBC smash-hit drama "Medium" (starring Patricia Arquette).
Mr. Caron is a master of filming "natural human comedy" scenes (the "family scenes" in Medium are VERY good) and likewise, "Making of Me" was a small masterpiece.

If they are never going to re-open the attraction, I hope Disney releases the film for sale as a DVD.

Robo, I knew this thread had your name on it!!!! :lmao:

You've got me PEGGED Bob!

I look at it this way.

The same QUESTION gets asked OVER and OVER...

The same "I don't know for sure" discussion follows OVER and OVER...

So why not do some research and write (and update it periodically) the "BIG ANSWER" and post it OVER and OVER? :thumbsup2

So sorry some of you all feel this was posted OVER and OVER. I realize it has been closed, hence my question. I have seen it closed and opened even post Met Life. We have even over-looked the partially gutted area during a Food and Wine Fest dinner when it took place in the private areas of the building. I have visited it when the shops and restaurants were gone. Even Horizons took on new life when Mission Space and Test Track were down. But the interactive maps on the Disney site still both show the whole pavillion and show the specific attractions when you click on them. Maybe those who hate the same question being posted OVER and OVER should let the powers that be know? Some of us do not visit daily or hang out on this board daily, either. Or for that matter, some of us only visit this board when we visit the parks once every few years. And with all the "boards too busy" lately it is hard to get a search to go.

I would still like to see Buzzy one last time. No one has yet detailed if that particular show has been gutted. Since you all know so much, maybe you know the answer to this. :lmao:

And thanks for answering OVER and OVER. Despite yourself, (to spite yourself?) thanks for the info about Moonlighting and Mr. Caron. Loved that show.

You'll have to explain that bit of info.

AND explain why you're "ticked off" that I answered your question.
