A couple of weeks ago I called to see if I had a PIN attached to my name. I really wasn't planning a trip b/c we are going in Dec but I was helping a friend of mine plan a trip and thought I'd call and check if I had one. Well, surprise I did-free QSDP!! I was really excited b/c we actually were planning a vacation but just didn't think we could afford WDW but with this PIN it helped a lot. Well she gave me quotes and I talked to her for like 30 minutes. I didn't book b/c I needed to talk to DH to see what he thought. Well, I called back to book it yesterday and they said I didn't have a PIN!!!! I know she said it expired April 30 b/c I was thinking wow we can wait until a couple days before we leave to decide. We were going May3-May9. I called again today and still no PIN. I'm so angry. Now I don't know what we'll do and we are leaving soon! My sis can get us great deals at hotels (she works at one) but having the food included was going to let us stay onsite. We can't pay the extra for the room and pay for food too! Has your PIN just ever disappeared? Thanks for letting me vent.

yes! This just happened to me last week! And what killed me is that we currently have a reservation with the pin! I wanted to make a separate reservation for one night only with no dining plan (the other reservation has a week of dining plan on it) - and she said that she didn't see any pin attached to either my husband's or my name. I was SO FRUSTRATED because I have a reservation with the darn pin! But she could not find a pin code number associated with that reservation (no idea how she couldn't find it), and flat out refused to honor it. All I knew was what they told me - the book by date was sometime in December and it was the 20/30/40 pin (it was a pin I found out was attached to my name during a phone call- never got an email or snail mail letter). I called back 2x with the same deal. The last try I got a cast member who was able to find it without any problems. I asked her why the other cast members couldn't find it and she had no idea.

So, keep calling until you find someone who will really look for it!

ETA: I asked her to read me the pin code number in that last conversation just in case I have problems again in the future. Book by date is December 2010 too!

I second the previous posters advice.

There are a raft of new reservations CM's on the phone and not all of them may yet be acquainted with all the tricks of the trade just yet.

Another couple of calls are in order and if they still can't find it - ask for a supervisor. Be firm but polite.

Thanks! I'm going to keep trying to call I guess. It seems like a lot of CMs give different answers. Hopefully I'll get someone that can help me.

Do the booking agents work on commission or are they incentivized in any way? Would a less-than-honest CM saying "oh, I found a PIN!" just to get you to book vacation plans?

I wonder myself. I kinda felt like the CM who said I had a PIN at first just gave it to me. I felt like I talked her into it in a way. I waited awhile on the computer to load (or whatever it was doing) for like 20 minutes before she said I had one. After she said I had free QSDP she said "Is there any other PINs, room discounts, that you'd like me to look for" and I said no thanks, that's the one I was hoping for. I've heard others say they think CMs can give them to you and I think it's true. I just wonder now that no other CMs seem to think I have one. Moral of the story, book it while you can!!

something close happened to me. I had someone tell me I did not have a pin. I called a week later and was told I did. So I went to book and she said "wait a minute, it just expired yesterday". I asked her how it could just expire when I didn't even have the pin a week before. She said she didn't know. I called back thanks to the advice of a diser, and asked to speak to a supervisor. When he got on the phone I asked if they ever keep a call log as to when you call in. He said sometimes and asked me why. I explained the situation, and told him I was ready to book until she told me it expired. As a courtesy he gave me the 20/30/40% off code for the entire year. I would suggest trying to do the same thing.

This happened to me in a way. I called to ask to see if I had a PIN. Never got one before so I almost fell off my chair when they said I had FQSD. I was booked with the public room only discount that ended on 3/27/10--the percentage that is better than now. I was so happy to get a PIN that I did not want to hang up and lose the PIN (in case I called back and it suddenly disappeared). So I accepted. Turned my reservation into rack rate then I get the FQSD. A few days later I actually got a FQSD card in the mail with the PIN expiring 4/30/2010--travel dates through 8/14/2010. I am regretting losing my % off promotion now because I have felt in the past that some CM's may play games. I am not a cynical person. I have become more suspicious with recent conflicting conversations with Disney Travel.
