Can someone tell me how much cheaper these weeks have been in past years since 2008 isn't out yet? This is our first trip to Disney World and we are looking for the best possible deals. Thank you.

I think the Wonderful Weeks of Disney may be a new promotion, so there could be no way to compare the prices with last year. If you go to the site, you'll see that some 2008 dates are out... although they seem to shift around each time I check the site, and many of them don't map to the dates that are traditionally considered low season...

Has anyone ever booked during these times? Are there usually good discounts? Anything else I should know. We are going to be there for one of those weeks in January  and thought I'd ask. Thanks all!

Typically yes. The "Wonderful Weeks of Disney" is Disney's way of saying slower than usual weeks of the year with speial acitivies and events; i.e. Food & Wine, MVMCP. They would know better than anyone.

Since these weeks are slower as far as crowds, resort and package discounts are usually available, but not guaranteed. Keep checking the DIS for AP and general public disount codes to pop up during your travel time.

Yes I booked during the WWoD weeks and there were absolutely no discounts until recently. We are there Aug. 15-19 which are listed as quiet weeks. The 40% code that came out was not allowed on those dates, when free dining came out--it was not available on those dates. We wondered why they listed these 2-3 weeks of August as quiet weeks when no discounts were offered. Only recently did they finally release some general public discounts and the value rooms are $69 a night which gives us a $13 savings-- . I gave up and booked a DVC room. I choose this timeframe because it was listed as quiet weeks and the website said that the "best" discounts would be available. Obviously that was not true for us August 2007 goers. I would take the information regarding quiet weeks with a grain of salt.

We go the third week of August, this year 18-25th because that is the only week that we can go on vacation. The fact that it is one of the WOnderful Weeks at Disney is a bonus. I hope it really is a slower time than June or July.

I just checked for January 08. Even though the dates show up, you can't get any info yet.....on the website or by phone.

I don't understand this promotion. Since almost all of January is listed, does this mean that the prices will be below normal value season pricing automatically or is it just that there is a possibility that a code might come out for those dates? To me it just seems like they're telling you when the slow times of the year are. :confused3

We went June 4 this year. Since the WWOD was a week before, I checked out the prices to see if it was less. It wasn't. We stuck with what we had.

I don't think WWoD means lower prices. I think it just means smaller crowds.

the website says "During some of the Wonderful Weeks of Disney, rates for great Disney Resorts are among the lowest of the year". I think they are just referring to value season where the rates are the lowest.
