Just back from a fabulous HH trip!!! We had five nights - Sunday through Thursday - and everything about this trip was great. It was our first stay "in season" and we fell in love with the SC beaches. Even though we are used to NC Atlantic beaches, we felt it was much calmer at HH. My younger DD11 was a real water rat - she stayed in the ocean or the pool constantly. DD16 and I enjoyed the chairs and umbrella (I am so fair that a refrigerator light can scald me, so not much sun for me!!!!) Everyone used sunscreen so no burns either - a first for us! Love the new Coppertone spray...

We had a great, relaxing week - loved the pool party and kids dancing on Tuesday night, thought the fireworks were awesome, and loved the Beach House. Plus, having children get me another Diet Coke on request was a real plus!!!! I read three books on the beach!!!

We love just lazing around in the villa - never did get to do a shell hunt or dolphin cruise. We are all "crafty" as well, so at night we worked on knitting or needlepoint projects and watched old movies we'd brought from home - our favorites were "Yours, Mine and Ours", "Father Goose" (with Cary Grant) and "The Happiest Millioniare" with Fred McMurray (an old Disney movie!)

Loved, loved, loved this trip and can't wait to go back for the next 35+ years!!!!

What a great time!!! I love the fact that you all found things you really wanted to do and it sounds like you got to relax as well (relax on vacation? :earseek: I am sure it happens lol).

I just made a long weekend ressie for January to go and check out HHI and I am very excited about it. We have wanted to see this resort (big beach people), but the pull of WDW is hard for me to get over, so this will be our first trip there as well. I can't wait. I love the beach even in winter, so I am sure we will have a great time.

Thanks for sharing.

Glad you had a great trip. We're headed there this weekend -- 5th year in a row. HH has a way of doing that. :teeth:

I believe I read that there are now DVD players. Is that right? Just asking to make sure and pack some of our favorites. Thanks. :sunny:

Oh, that sounds wonderful. Do you own at HH? Did you book 11 months out?

Yes, I own at HH. I don't remember exactly when I booked, but I know it wasn't at 11 months, since I didn't buy the contract until September! I think I must have booked somewhere at the 8 month mark or so - I do think your chances are better with a 2BR (which is what we had) since there are more of them available at the resort.

Yes, there was a DVD player in our villa - good thing, too!! I had asked the girls to choose movies for the 6 hour car trip and the vacation - they "narrowed it down" to 41 movies!!!!!!!! We'd have had to watch 8 movies a day to see each one!!!!!! Needless to say, most of them never saw the light of day...

Hi,

Thanks for sharing!!! Can't wait to go back myself!!

Thanks for the report! I love HH. Any news on the new naturalist? Where was your villa in the resort?

I didn't hear anything about the new naturalist, but I wasn't near that area very much and both daughters are aging out of the kid's programs, so there could be someone!

We were in building 30, near the end of the resort. Villa 3023, upstairs. A nice view of the interior of the property, with a water view of the marina if you were on the balcony and really stretched!!!! (Also could see a little of the water from the living room window and the bathroom!) It was a great location since the girls could walk on a nice path and be at the pool in about a minute. We also enjoyed going down to the water and watching the little crabs scuttle around. HH is such a pretty resort - can't wait to go back!!!!

BTW, also LOVED having three TVs - DD16 glued to MTV, DD11 glued to the Disney Channel, and Mom didn't have to watch either one!!!! A 2BR is a splurge for just the three of us, but I bought the contract so I would have enough points to stay 5 days in summer in a 2BR (165 points.) This really works well for us, especially at HH. We have some points at BCV, too, and I'd stay in a studio or 1BR if I needed to at WDW, but we sure do love to spread out at the beach!!!
