Wonder - November 9, 2013 - Bahamas from Galveston

Above link has a tracker of the wonders location if you want to keep track of her this week

Does anyone know how full this cruise is, I had a link early that I was checking but can't seem to find it anymore. ………Also anyone know if you can take food off the boat with you? can it be something from room service or does it have to be prepackaged?

Hi I ordered silicone wrist bands for our cruise that say Cruising Disney. It will help identify those of us who have chatted all these months on Disboards and Facebook. They are adult size only. Please post on Facebook how many and your stateroom. If you aren't on facebook just post here. I will probably hand them out on sail day but will post that later. Sherry:cool1:

I have heardb rumor of requesting sack lunch from room service. Not sure how true that is

Has anyone called to find out what movies are showing on this trip? I got to see a wonderful movie on our last cruise and hoping for the same this trip :-)

Taking food that is not pre-packaged off a cruise ship may not be okay in some foreign countries. Since Nassau is our only foreign port, you should be okay to take things off the ship in Key West and Castaway Cay.

This is what a trip advisor poster had to say about bringing food into Nassau:

You can bring everything except fresh fruit and veggies or plant matter (no fresh picked herbs). Meat products should have the USDA label attached. If you don't use store packaging, put the label in the baggies with the product.

You should keep a list of items you bring, just in case.

Customs frowns on homemade items since there is no way of knowing what is in them .

Breads, bagels, cereal, tuna etc are just fine. Snacks are very expensive in the bahamas, bring them along.

Peanut butter, crackers, etc are fine. My friends like those 90 second rice packets as well.

Hope that helps!

Howdy y'all,

I'm not on your cruise but was on this sailing last week (the 10/26 one). I want to advise those of you driving through Houston to Galveston to check for highway closures ahead of time!

The day we sailed (10/26), I10 was closed at the Grand Parkway in Katy (westside) for the weekend so people driving in from San Antonio and Austin via Columbus experienced delays. Then Beltway 8 was closed at 59 on the southwest side adding insult to injury.

It looks like I10 is going to be closed this weekend too (source: http://traffic.houstontranstar.org/construction/construction_report.aspx):

HIGHWAY IH-10 KATY
DESCRIPTION Eastbound at SH-99 GRAND PARKWAY. Total Closure. Closed continuously from 9:00 PM, Friday, November 8 to 5:00 AM, Monday, November 11. Detour to the frontage roads. Map
START DATE 11/08/2013

So if you're driving in from the west Saturday morning....please give yourself additional time!

Everyone I am not on this cruise but I wanted to wish you a happy cruise! I also have one small request. We are going on the December 14th cruise and was wondering if someone could please (pretty please with a cherry on top!) post scans of the navigators when you get back? This is the first cruise of the Merrytime cruises that has the same itinerary as my cruise and I was hoping to be able to see when stuff like the tastings are so I can book nursery time.

Thanks!

I'll be happy to! I have all the scanning equipment in my classroom to do it when I get back. I teach a technology class so it's not a problem at all!

So here is what I have for the tour!

We can start at stateroom 2562, then to 6104, 7108, 7627, and end at 8564, unless they tell me once we get onboard that we can view suites.

If we want to meet at stateroom 2562 Sunday about 3pm and go from there? Does that sound good? pirate:

In case anyone wanders back over here now that we're back -- Here's a link to some of my photos in photobucket (sorry they're not captioned yet or in a separate album nicely in order -- they sort of start and the end and go back to the beginning) -- too many of me with characters, because these are the ones that will be fodder for my scrapbooking.

And special thanks again to Golden Rose :cheer2:

(Looks like I need to delete my ticker -- it didn't switch over to "days since")

If anyone that just came back from this cruise has their navigators, would you be so kind as to post them? We are going on the Wonder on Dec 7, and the wife is crawling out of her skin to see y'all's navigators. Pretty please?

I have mine

How do I upload the navigators here? I don't see a link to add them. I have them scanned.

I honestly don't know how to put them up here... Could I trouble you to send them in an attachment to ooberwoot(at)gmail.com
