I have heardb rumor of requesting sack lunch from room service. Not sure how true that is
Taking food that is not pre-packaged off a cruise ship may not be okay in some foreign countries. Since Nassau is our only foreign port, you should be okay to take things off the ship in Key West and
Castaway Cay.
This is what a trip advisor poster had to say about bringing food into Nassau:
You can bring everything except fresh fruit and veggies or plant matter (no fresh picked herbs). Meat products should have the USDA label attached. If you don't use store packaging, put the label in the baggies with the product.
You should keep a list of items you bring, just in case.
Customs frowns on homemade items since there is no way of knowing what is in them .
Breads, bagels, cereal, tuna etc are just fine. Snacks are very expensive in the bahamas, bring them along.
Peanut butter, crackers, etc are fine. My friends like those 90 second rice packets as well.
Hope that helps!
