Wonder May 17, 2015 3 Night Mexican Riviera

Definitely true, at least everyone was OFFERED a free cruise, even if they couldn't swing it. We got our changed airfare reimbursed as well, which was especially nice. Honestly, for us, it worked out better than perfect, we were extremely lucky. We were also able to get the excursions we wanted and get in to Palo brunch and dinner. They took really good care of us.

What is a dummy booking??? I keep reading about it on posts but do not understand!

I went on a different cruise line and went to Ensenada. Bars and artisan crafts and La Bufadora, the water spout attraction is what I remember.

Ill probably get off the boat to see the artisans but plan on leaving the kids on board. I hear the boat is less empty at that time anyway.

Are the pools open during the dock times?

Booking your next cruise on board secures you a 10% discount on the overall price. Since most people don't really know what dates they want for their next sailing, they book a "dummy cruise". Just the cheapest sailing they can find in order to keep the deposit low and be able to switch sailings at a later time.
And yes, pools are open!!

I finally made it over here...... I'm currently standing in line for Radiator Springs Racers at California Adventure and had time to read through the 6 pages so far...........
This will be our 6th cruise and our first sailing as gold CC. It will be Me, DH Ricky, DD Daniela 19, DDBF Martin 19, DS Ethan 11, and DS Ashton 10.

We considered going B2B but decided to do 4 nights at Disneyland instead at our home resort, the Grand Californian. Lots of familiar faves on this sailing! Great!

Also, were IN San Diego, so any info needed just ask! And we were JUST in Ensenada for 2 days in March, and I grew up down there on weekends and Holidays because my family had property down there. Any questions you have about Ensenada, just ask! I promise it's not scary......
We did the Carnival weekend cruise once and did the taste if Mexico excursion as well. We went to Mango Mango restaurant and learned how to make guacamole and some other thing but I forgot. The chef was great, we shopped afterward, and walked back to the ship.
We are for sure getting off since we know where to go to grab some quick amazing tacos and things we'll need to stick up on like our favorite blankets and candy!

Oh yeah, count us in for FE, but I agree it should be kept simple. Looking forward to getting to know all of you!

Oh sure, look who decided to show up! ;) I'm so glad you know your way around Ensenada! And bringing your daughter and her man along for the ride, too!? Cyndi and Ricki are our buddies from our first sailing, and this is our second attempt at a reunion, but I think we have a pretty clear shot at this one!!

I can't seem to send a pm from my iPad easily, but it will be my DH John and I (Heather) sailing for our third time on the Wonder in room 2618. We live in San Diego, so no travel costs involved for us. I would like to do the FE, but the last two times the groups were huge, and we ended up with an extra suitcase full of just FE stuff to give away. If anyone has any questions about San Diego and what there is do do, please feel free to ask. I love talking about my hometown
Evasue, I just talked it over with DH, and we will not participate in the FE this time around. I have started my own business, and I am going a bit crazy right now, with no sign of slowing down. Thank you for organizing it.

What a great idea! I told my husband tonight and he rolled his eyes at me... "we haven't even made it to one trip, and you are already planning the other!"

How elaborate are the FE's?

The gifts, or the actual extenders? The gifts are usually trinkets and keepsakes, but some people go all out and do really nice gifts like mini photo albums and personalized cups/apparel. Hand made gifts are popular as well. The actual extenders can be very simple or very very elaborate, but nobody will judge you either way. :)

This is our FE. I bought it from a seller on Etsy. She was able to personalize it with the characters that we requested.

Hello all! I'm Erin (37), and I will be traveling with my sons, Elliott (who will be 9) and Oliver (who will be 6). This will be our second cruise on the Wonder (we did the Mexican Riviera trip in 2012). I just couldn't pass this one up - we live in Coronado, right across the bay, and can hear the cruise ship horns from our house. It's torture on those rare occasions when a Disney ship is in port! Since we did our first cruise, the boys have been begging to go on another, so I decided to book this three-night trip. I'm keeping it a secret for now - not sure if I will make it a Christmas present or just surprise them when we show up at the dock (which is my fantasy; I love surprising people!) This will be the first time I do something like this with just the kids, but we've been practicing by taking trips to Disneyland by ourselves so hopefully it will work out. I won't know what to do with myself when the kids are off in the clubs!

We will definitely participate in the FE, as we had such a great time doing it on our first cruise! We are in room 6135.

Welcome! I will add your family to the roll call and FE. :) I have an Elliot as well, but he's only going to be 3 at sailing. Welcome aboard!

Welcome! I absolutely LOVE the sound of the DCL ship horns! My DH tried to add it to my phone as my ringtone but not compatible w/my phone. Whenever I call DH's phone, it DOES "When you wish upon a star". :)

Hey there! My DS will be 10 at sailing.... I'm sure they'll be quick friends. And we live in Eastlake, right across the bay!

Welcome neighbor we are right down the hall from you. I think we're in 6154!

We just jumped on the bandwagon and added the 2 night sailing too! :cool1: So excited!! I noticed there isn't a group yet for that sailing, so if anyone here decides to start one, please add us in to that group and FE as well. Looking forward to meeting everyone in a little more than one year :woohoo: We are in cabin 6147.
