Wonder - January 21, 2011 The Cruise To Nowhere In Particular..

For those who can already book them, are there any shore excursions listed (like pre- or post-cruise activities)?

Awwww.... I missed the sprint to the 2000th posting! The battle for #2000 would have been monumental - like this bear v fisherman batle was...

If captaincrash comes along and steals this from me after I wasted this much time, I'll be really bummed!

I can envision it now - DsnyDaddy was dancin' around the yard over his seizure of #2000... JUST YOU WAIT until the next mile marker!!!

Hmmm, am I willing to post 33 more times to snag the 2000th post?

OK - DsnyDaddy ... I shall prepare for the next sprint to (whatever)... [commence dramatic music fanfare!]

And in an effort to wrest control and influence over your thoughts and planning for that day ... I give you ...

Nice yard Steve! We should get our Halloween stuff out and set up... but IDK if we'll get to it until after the rain blows over. So - on another note - we're having sprinkles and lightening - plus a BLACK out a few minutes ago - so I am stepping out to run down to the Griffith Park Observatory - and maybe the the USC Exploratorium as my kids have "minimum days" today on account of parent teacher conferences today. After which we'll get dinner in town since it's tough to get good authentic Chinese food out were we live outside of Los Angeles...

We're spending the night before on the Queen Mary! Just have to zip over from Long Beach to San Pedro the next morning.

.

We will be flying into LAX on the 19th and spend two glorious nights at the DGV! We are thinking of buying the Premier Pass - that's the one that gets you into both the Land and the World. We are doing the Dream in August and will spend a week in the World. We are still about $100 from breaking even on the admissions but that just means we will have to go to Disneyland again sometime next year.

Hey Capt. Crash. Yep, It would have been fun to battle to 2000. On my previous two cruise threads we had a number of games that we had made up to while away the nearly two years prior to each cruise. We got to know each other so well on the first cruise that most of us made a second cruise together two years later. We've even got a thread going on another part of the DIS so that we can continue to keep up with each other.

That's one of the reasons that I really like this thread so much, there's a lot of camaraderie building here. On my other cruise thread, it's a Ghost Town. I'm really bummed about that. Good thing that I'm cruising with some friends on that one because otherwise, I'd really be missing the months long cruise banter.

So, I'll see you at the 3000th post, eh?

I just love planning :lovestruc The best thing about vacations :thumbsup2

Since my DH is dropping DD and I off, I decided to stay at a hotel by the port. That Friday morning I don NOT want to be in traffic...me and traffic -- don't get along.

We once watched the Magic sail away before our MR cruise. I loved the restaurant we ate at but DH is bent on eating at the fish market the evening before we sail away.

Since he's flipping the bill -- I guess I get to watch him munch on an entire grilled fish :)

Hopefully I can wake up REALLY early and see the Wonder enter the port. :cloud9::cloud9:

that's the thing that has me spooked about staying in Anaheim. Traffic. I'm going to be a basket case until we're on the ship that morning. Especially since my Father-in-law will be doing the driving, I'll not have control!:scared1:

I kno what ya' mean Brother... on our last DCL sailing we had a WONDERFUL group of enthusiasts gathered (universal good cheer similar to THAT which was exhibited below?) with meet threads containing an incredible number of postings - maybe 250,000 with me adding several 1000 alone (as I vaguely recall)! I was the 10th highest contributor! It was that sailing which had the record with DCL of having the MOST repeat guests ever on a DCL sailing! Was it 1600 ???? SO naturally, we had the biggest meet thread ever. It was quite memorable - the sailing and the meet threads. I still keep up with many folks from that experience!

We have the same thing from a 2006 cruise that we took. We're still all Facebook friends and keeping up with each other's lives there. We were up to a 3rd thread here on the Dis, I think, before it finally died off. I tried to get things going on our 2008 cruise thread, but it was hard to live up to the hype, I guess :) I also started a thread for our May 2011 Dream cruise, but it's only one page 9 and has been active for quite some time... it just won't have the same level of camaraderie that I've come to expect. This thread has been alot of fun, though, thanks much in part to you DsnyDaddy, captaincrash, and a bunch of other fun people. I am looking forward to the 40 hour party with you!

I will wave to you as we come in...it will be such a strange feeling knowing I don't have to get off of the ship. We have never done a B2B.

Friday morning going that direction..I would definitely allow extra time!

I think the PC cruise we did have something like 80% repeat or somethinglike that.

I'm really not worried about traffic, I'll have to ask the Hubman what he thinks. From our house we can see the Long Beach terminals usually, I wish our ship was going to be there! I'd love to get up that morning and see it sitting out there.

We are staying at the Harbor Blvd HoJo the night before - trying to sneak in a little bit of DL time. We're just hoping for some travel-Pixiedust that morning. I'll probably still make my DH get up at 4am just to be safe :rotfl:

HoJo still has the Entertainment Rate available for the 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th if anyone is still looking for a place to stay...and get in some extra magic!

Captaincrash, I just noticed that we're practically neighbors! Are you planning on driving down that morning or the night before?

Ok, I have a question for everyone using the Cruise to Neverland graphic in their sig. How do you get it to post next to your tickers? I keep trying to add it to my sig, but it always posts below or above my ticker instead of next to it.

I had the same problem! I just kept mesing with it and got it to place next to. Find the end of the code for your ticker and the beginning of the IMG code for your cruise logo. Make sure there is no space between the two. If the IMG code starts on a new line, put your cursor at the beginning of the code and backspace so you remove the "new line" that is in there.

Hope that helps - I'm no expert on signatures, mine is pretty simple, but I'm having fun playing around with it :surfweb:

Off work in two hours and heading to Disneyland to experience our first ever Halloweentime in the park! WAAAAYYYYY too excited to work and the clock has stopped moving - arrrrggghhhh :)

suzcruz, great breakfast place right up the street....Gaffy Street Diner. We saw it on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. Tried it before our last cruise and I couldn't wait to get off the ship so we could go back!:thumbsup2
