Wonder - January 21, 2011 The Cruise To Nowhere In Particular..

I prepaid my tips for 2 reasons, One its done with and I don't have to worry about the money and two was the worry about the line at guest services. I plan to add more green cash to those that deserve it.

I actually love your posts and your pictures but I am also a kid at heart and can't wait to skip down the halls of the ship and embarrass my teenagers!:thumbsup2

We have always just put cash in the tip envelopes. I make sure I have everything counted out before I leave. Works out great and no need to mess with Guest Services.

In the interest of time on this short little cruise, may we leave them all labeled in our stateroom?

I am keeping track of the FE but am not aware who is travelling on the OC as well.

If anyone is travelling on the PC - could you let me know so I can add that to the FE list - it helps with those of us ordering the FE.

Also, we do have someone who wnts to do something for the kids so if you could PM me with your user name and your kids ages..that would be great. The deadline for the FE is in about 2 weeks! Join the fun!

Thanks!

My user name is kris3kid and I have one 10yr. girl named Sammie that is doing the FE.

.
Speaking of "skipping down the halls" aboard ship... how many, may I ask ... have been out dropping FE gifts ... and had SECURITY shadowing them?
.

.
Now me - I understand it's only natural to send security to follow me seeing as I am such a shifty and suspicious looking sort?! < chuckles > However, the occasions when I had security following - it was after midnight - and we were pushing two strollers which had our boxes of FE goodies. I was out with another DIS buddy who happened to be my neighbor by random chance aboard ship! AND... When our babies were both crying... we had a stereo-phonic effect on the neighborhood!

So anyone else draw a security shadow - or wuz it jus' me and my DIS neighbor who got da' special treatment?

May I offer a nod of cordial gratitude with a dabble of mild reluctance?

I am just being myself - and I believe in the adage that a picture is worth a thousand words... while a humorous animated image is worth a ton of light hearted good cheer!

My DD11 is laughing so hard watching that baby dance! :lmao::lmao:

Hmmm... what was your other ID? I'm just curious?

B9erSteve. At the time I wrote signed up for the DIS I was building a scale model of the Robot from Lost In Space (Environmental Control Robot Model B9) So I picked that name. (I was using it for a few other logins at the time as well.) Well, I've sold the model and don't plan on building another so I wanted a DIS name that more suited me. Unfortunately, there's no easy way to change a username on the DIS except to stop using one name and start using another.

:yay:

Whoo! Hoo! I'll be looking for that Brunch ressie pretty soon. I hope there are some left!

Now that sounds so incredibly cool! You had a B9 robot under construction! I've had occasion to admire the incredible efforts of enthusiasts who were recreating thier passions. Passions like B9, or Robby the robot, or Star Wars characters and cosplay / comicCON in general. I see the excitement and I whimsicly must confess to having some inclinations myself. A few years ago I bought a "movie grade" costume of Anakin Skywalker with a matching Padame costume for my spouse. I've since had occasion to use it several times - with another opportunity coming up for our 1st graders' class Holloween party. I'm a co-chair as room parent so I get to declare myself as a participant in costume that day! ANd I might add I ALMOST embarked on a crash project to cobble together a "BIG DADDY" costume for this years' Holloween events... below are images of the costumes types for "Dark Anakin" and the particular Padame varient with the torn mid section off the tunic - as well as one of "BIG DADDY" from the Bio Shock PC game...

Sorry about the size of these images - I could not find a smaller yet appropriate depiction...

Above is the actual costume configuration which I have for my spouse and I! For a lightsaber I use a master Replica Light saber and my spouse has an exactly identical Blaster to that shown here - except hers' can shoot silly string!!!

Below is an ACTUAL FAN CREATED COSTUME of Big Daddy shot at a real aquarium!

Those B9's are from a man named Mike Joyce. I think that may be him in the far back. He was the one who fabricated my Torso. He does great work. My Robot was still pretty much peices when I sold him. The guy I sold him to put the peices together and loaned him out to a San Francisco film crew and he was featured in an episode of a short-lived Discovery Channel show called "Prototype This!"

That's pretty cool. I rented a Darth Vader outfit for my son's 8th birthday. The kids all got jedi robes and lightsabers and we staged a Jedi Training Camp. Everyone had a blast! Afterwards I was really tempted to Buy one of those Darth Vader Outfits.

that is way cool I wouldn't mind building that! But where to put it!

I had not paused to consider WHERE to store it. I've been looking at those miniature action figure models of this "Big Daddy" while considering if I should try my hand at it. Ya figure I could swing it with spray paint, cardboard, duct tape and a long visit to a crafts store? Oh yeah... I'll also need some basic electronics to rig an alternating light effect from the visioin ports on the helmet! Plus ... ya figure I could squeeze a sound generation device inside too?

So - to be truthful I am dead serious... but my 2 girls keep declining to be seen with me if I build it for Haloween. What am I to do as I need one little girl who I can dress up with the hand needler to accompany me about?

Yeah .... my little one wants to go out as Pikachu and the older one is getting a custom made "Amarillo" costume - images below:
